As I am writing this, the ticket sales for the comedy disaster movie Exit is at 9.7 million so it even has a chance to break 10 million which is a incredible milestone beyond what it has already accomplished. The movie is the summer 2019 hit of the Korean box office but unfortunately will not get the title of biggest … Continue reading →
This is a surprise, super duper surprise hit of the summer, with disaster comedy movie Exit premiering top of the box office this week. The plastic surgeons in South Korea have spoken and it’s the passing of the baton in terms of emulation. On a recent variety show program, a group of doctors shared that the industry has seen a new wave of faces that patients most want to look like. Leading the wish list is Irene of Red Velvet, followed by SNSD‘s Yoona … Continue reading →
Couture brand sponsored events have been fuglyville in recent weeks so it’s a nice visual treat to see one nice looking outfit make an entrance. Idol-actress Yoona attended the star-studded Chanel event in Seoul launching the Chanel collaboration with rapper Pharrell as well as the opening of a new flagship space in the city. Lots of K-stars were in attendance … Continue reading →
The Asia Artist Awards are the true purveyors of a popularity contest and if it wasn’t for actors and actresses getting random awards along with the idol and pop stars I’d probably not cover it. This year the highlight was the four very very famous idol-actresses above showing up at the same event – IU in white, Suzy in grey-moss, … Continue reading →
Two weeks prior to the epic fashion debacle at the Salvatore Ferragamo event, a bunch of top K-stars did the opposite in a rare occasion of stepping out in various pretty and different fashion looks at the Alexander McQueen event in mid-October. It was a total win when normally it’s hard to even find one good fashion look among K-celebs. … Continue reading →
I feel like such a grumpy pants after seeing the Korean stars walk the VIP red carpet at the movie premiere for thriller The Negotiation starring Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin. The number 1 … Continue reading →
I haven’t seen Yoona recently so it’s nice to see a new spread that’s so pretty both in visuals and the staging. Yoona is in the pages of Allure Korea modeling watches and I really enjoy how the pictorial toggles between closeup and full body poses. She’s always been lanky but here isn’t so so think that it distracts, and … Continue reading →

This seems like one of those rando awards ceremonies but it’s been around now for 12 years so has gained enough legitimacy that plenty of Asian film stars actually attend the Asian Film Awards. Held at the Venetian Sands in Macau, the 2018 ceremony held this weekend brought out mostly Hong Kong stars but from the K-ent contingent actress-idol Yoona … Continue reading →
A weepy romance movie starring So Ji Sub and Son Ye Jin, of course the VIP movie premiere for Be With You would be bursting at the seams with celebrity guest attendees. Song Seung Heon looked his preppiest best at the event, there to support both his best guy friend So Ji Sub and his former weepy romance drama costar … Continue reading →
Props to Korean idols Yoona and Minho for getting the full coordinating fashion memo while attending the Givenchy 2018 spring fashion show in Paris recently. The SM Entertainment label mates were a pretty pair despite the mostly unpretty outfits from the fashion house, complete with animal prints, sharp shoulder pads, velvet pants, and awkward height cowboy boots with side cutouts. … Continue reading →
