I like when the male and female lead is announced in the same news week, keeps me from guessing and also feels like the production has got its act together in lining up the right actors. K-actress Jo Boa will be joining Lee Dong Wook in the 2020 fantasy romance K-drama Tale of Gumiho, currently neither is confirmed but it’s … Continue reading →
It’s times like this that I wish I could do more. I wish I was friends with Gu Hye Sun so I could counsel her to just retreat into her friends and family and get through this tough patch before emerging back into public life. Because no good can come of judgmental netizens and a very he said/she said divorce … Continue reading →
Oh boy, this sounds like a really bad idea from even 50,000 feet away. Popular Hallyu actor Kim Soo Hyun is reportedly not going to renew his KeyEast contract and plans to set up his own agency with his cousin managing. Normally successful stars setting up their own agency after 10 plus years of making boatloads of money for their … Continue reading →
I still remember where I was when Kim Woo Bin was diagnosed with cancer and took time off for medical treatment. Since then it’s been 2.5 years and the actor is fully recovered and ready to return to his halted acting career. Someone so talented and on a vertical trajectory will likely be able to slide right back in especially … Continue reading →
I don’t know what else to call this other than Goblin 2 or Goblin Redux or Goblin Lite. Lee Gong Wook is in talks to star as a male gumiho, a nine-tailed fox seductress that in folklore is always a woman. There have been male gumiho gender reversals done before most notably in Gu Family Book. This time in Tale … Continue reading →
Yay, what a great casting call and so looking forward to this drama now for 2020. Nam Ji Hyun is confirmed opposite Lee Joon Hyuk for the time-travel K-drama 365: A Year of Defying Fate, based on the Japanese novel Repeat. The story involves 10 people who get a chance to travel back in time to 1 year earlier and … Continue reading →
The doctor + teacher is bad in the house, or hospital, as filming as kicked off for season 2 of Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim. The first one with Han Suk Kyu, Yoo Yeon Suk, and Seo Hyun Jin got good ratings so it’s reasonable SBS would bank on the same formula for a second go-around. It works because only Han … Continue reading →
Wow, if this casting goes through it would be a win for the actress and a win for the production. Seo Ye Ji is in talks as the female lead of upcoming tvN drama I’m a Psycho But It’s Okay, which has a weird title but all the attention is on the drama likely being Kim Soo Hyun‘s first drama … Continue reading →
If you have four leads, two men and two women, and it’s a glossy high profile drama, it probably would be best to avoid in any way shape or form other high profile drama work product. But this one is funny because the two dramas are from the same screenwriter lol. Writer Park Ji Eun‘s next drama Crash Landing on … Continue reading →
The first new drama to arrive in 2020 sounds like it will be The Game: Towards Zero, or towards hopefully a good year for K-drama ratings. The drama is scheduled to air in January 2020 on MBC Wed-Thurs and stars Taecyeon in his acting comeback after two years in the military. He plays a prophet who can look into people’s … Continue reading →
I hope tvN is not counting its chicks before it hatches but this type of publicity likely indicates a close to final signing. tvN recently went before advertisers to promote it’s 2020 lineup of shows and for K-dramas the three faces it trotted out were Kim Soo Hyun, Jang Nara, and Jung Hae In. Of the three, only Jung Hae … Continue reading →
It was a great weekend for Kim Woo Bin fans as the actor officially made his entertainment career return in a solo activity by holding a fanmeeting. Three weeks ago he was at the Blue Dragon Awards presenting and looking just as handsome and charismatic as before his two year hiatus for cancer treatment. This weekend’s fanmeeting allowed his fans … Continue reading →
The Hong Sisters are back thanks to the success of summer 2019 supernatural K-drama Hotel Del Luna. I think they are about 50/50 on hits and misses and based on their track record the next drama is likely a miss. I hope they break free of that bad luck as their next drama is already in the works. It’s scheduled … Continue reading →
