The two leads of In A Good Way the adorable Lego Lee and Kristen Jen joined the other two currently airing SETTV idol dramas at the network headquarters this week for a celebration of the success of the three dramas. The other two are Deja Vu airing on Sunday nights with Mandy Wei, Yao Yuan Hao, and Jenna Wang and the daily … Continue reading →
I really love watching the weekly BTS footage at the end of each new episode of In A Good Way. When the cast gets along and has fun, not to mention the drama is really good, then the BTS becomes a veritable gold mine of laughs and interesting chemistry to spot everywhere. I haven’t stayed around to watch every detail … Continue reading →
When normal people heard the word “Friday” the first thought is weekend almost here and work week almost over. For the next few months when I hear Friday I’ll start screaming In A Good Way kyaaaaaa~ That’s a normal reaction, right? I mean, find me a person who can withstand the force of sheer chemistry and visual perfection together that … Continue reading →
For every new K-drama there are about 10 new C-dramas, that’s the huge 10x production slate that the massive machine over in China turns out every year. I can’t keep up and don’t intend to, but I do check out the ones that pique my interest whether from a cast perspective or a production team or the rare case where … Continue reading →
I have a feeling I’m going to be the In A Good Way fairy from here on out, either until the drama ends or it goes off the rails and I jump ship. This thing has a long run ahead of us, what with only 4-episodes aired with a once-a-week-airing not to mention possibly over 20 episodes in length. I’m … Continue reading →
Combining two In A Good Way posts into one is probably a good idea before this place becomes Liu Chuan central. Okay, it kinda already is and who can blame me? He’s perfect, though that’s clearly giving him too much credit since he seems rather love dense. Well maybe not dense since it’s clear he knows he feels something for … Continue reading →
The awesome train of In A Good Way just keeps on rolling. This Friday’s episode 4 was so amazing I was rather speechless watching not wanting to miss a single detail. Nothing has arrived in the form of romance that is explicit but all the developing stuff is deliciously tingly. This drama is already snowballing in popularity and interest in … Continue reading →
Somewhere in an alternate universe, drama producer Yu Zheng is still filming his massacre drama adaptation of the wuxia novel Return of the Condor Heroes. It’s been seven years since the last major remake starring now top C-movie stars Huang Xiaoming as Yang Guo and Crystal Liu as Xiaolongnu. I’d be happy if we went another seven without a remake … Continue reading →
I just watched the official kick-ass long preview for an upcoming period C-drama that reminds me so much of the currently airing Empress Ki, but with the two male leads combined into one and the female lead a strong warrior lady who becomes his Empress with a love story ending. History books write of countless royal political marriages and it’s … Continue reading →
Normally I have a decent sixth sense about whether co-stars are falling in love or hooking up behind the scenes of a movie or drama. It’s not perfect but I do have eyes and often the clues are quite obvious. Which is why I, along with lots of drama fans of the Taiwanese idol drama Just You (Just Want to … Continue reading →
This drama has been done filming since last year and I dang forgot it hasn’t aired until now. I rather like letting upcoming dramas slip since I’m not anxiously waiting for it. The modern Tong Hua novel Secrets Hidden in Time (被時光掩埋的秘密 which I unabashedly shortened to SHiT) has been remade into the C-drama titled Best Time (最美的时光) starring Janine … Continue reading →
It’s been awhile since I wrote about Yun Zhong Ge (Song in the Clouds), C-novelist Tong Hua’s romance novel set in the early Han dynasty mixing real life historical characters with a fictional what-if star-crossed romance story. It remains a great regret that I couldn’t finish translating the full second half of the novel, though I did manage to deliver the … Continue reading →
I’ve written so many recaps I’ve lost count, but to date I’ve only managed to translate one entire Chinese novel from beginning to end, which is a feat I doubt I will ever replicate. It requires time and love, and I’ve had neither these days, and if I did I would finish plugging in the missing chapters in my Yun … Continue reading →
