I must’ve blinked on this news but it’s never too late to catch up on the congrats. C-actress Ying Er announced her pregnancy today on SNS and I didn’t even know she was married so this took me by surprise. Turns out this past August she revealed that she was dating her Chinese version of We Got Married costar and fellow actor Fu Xing Bo, and the two registered their marriage 6 days after going public. They met filming dramas before but it wasn’t until 2016 for love to bloom after they paired up as a couple on Perhaps Love, another variety show based on WGM and co-produced with CJ E&M. Ying Er shared the picture above confirming her pregnancy in the tender head embrace of her husband and it’s really sweet and lovely moment. Congrats to the couple as C-ent continues to add to the ranks of marrieds within the industry. Continue reading

C-dramas are starting to feel like two degrees of separation with the same actors and actresses pairing up in varying combinations that still feel slightly incestuous. It may be my impression in that I’m interested in only certain dramas that … Continue reading

The stars were out in full style (good, bad, and weird) at the 2015 Fashion Cosmo Gala in Shanghai this week. There were plenty of industry renowned fashion plates present such as idol Show Luo, just married Angelababy, model-actress Bea Hayden … Continue reading

It’s been a hot mess two weeks in greater-Chinese entertainment news when it comes to epic cheating scandals. I don’t even know which one to tackle first, but since famous Taiwanese illustrator-turned-writer Wan Wan‘s abject “I’m sorry” apology doodle is … Continue reading
This drama has been done filming since last year and I dang forgot it hasn’t aired until now. I rather like letting upcoming dramas slip since I’m not anxiously waiting for it. The modern Tong Hua novel Secrets Hidden in … Continue reading

The filming for the drama adaptation of Secrets Hidden in Time continues to chug along, and I continue to be fascinated by it. I don’t think I’ve ever shipped two leads this hard before the drama even began, but here … Continue reading
Premiering exactly one year after it’s predecessor drama Sunny Happiness, Happy Michelin Kitchen will finally hit the airwaves next week on January 23rd after finishing filming last year. HMK is the third and final drama in the Happy Trilogy, and continuing with … Continue reading
Will the insanity of this story never end? Much as I deem Sealed with a Kiss the drama for being utterly distasteful in concept, apparently the viewers in China disagree and can’t get enough of it. It was a ratings hit, … Continue reading
This may be a one-off post, perhaps an ongoing series, or maybe once in a blue moon when I’m drunk and bitter. Recently I’ve been quietly watching some dramas that aren’t just bad (and stupid), it’s unbelievably so much so … Continue reading
