The upcoming KBS period drama Age of Feeling (Inspiring Generation) is the first big K-drama to premiere in 2014 and its coming along with a huge price tag, cast, and expectation. This isn’t a smallish scale manga adaptation like its predecessor Pretty Boy which is doing abysmal in ratings but probably never had a chance anyway. This drama was pushed … Continue reading →
In a rather quiet but unsurprisingly news reveal, embattled Korean actor Park Shi Hoo has signed on to act in a art house Chinese filmed tentatively called Fragrant Scent (香氣). Park Shi Hoo has actually been doing some activities since his rape allegation charges went away in late Spring though he had long stay in the US to get away … Continue reading →
Did Heirs turn out to be a good drama choice for Lee Min Ho? I’d say there is a good argument on either side that it helped him career and probably hindered his acting development. He’s still young and has plenty of opportunities ahead of him so I don’t begrudge that he picked a flimsy nonsensical idol drama to help … Continue reading →
One of my favorite movies in recent years happens to be an adaptation of one of my favorite mangas, and I was probably a very good girl all year because my early present in 2014 is two back-to-back movie sequels slated for a Summer release. The live-action movie of Rurouni Kenshin was both a critical and box office success and … Continue reading →
A very Merry Christmas to everyone and good tidings leading into the new year! I’m happy to send 2013 off even if there are currently two dramas that own my heart. Both dramas could start 2014 off with a bang or end up my first disappointment of the year but at least it’s making me exceeding happy right now. In … Continue reading →
I think it would be hard to argue that Song Seung Heon is a very good looking man and he takes really good pictures. He’s got an insanely chiseled body but I much prefer him clothed and just striking a pose en vogue. Without a currently airing drama he’s been very quiet in Korea in terms of exposure, which is … Continue reading →
This week was the Baidu Fei Dian Awards in Beijing and in attendance was yet another huge collection of actors and actresses from not just China but all over Asia. One of the most anticipated appearances was of the newly minted couple of Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi. They did not disappoint fans with their joint appearance at the … Continue reading →
I thought episode 5 of Prime Minister and I was a tiny bit of a slow patch but wowsers did episode 6 get right back to business and deliver all sorts of feelings and narrative reveals left and right. The romance isn’t anywhere near floating to the surface yet but that strange new family Yul and Da Jung have created … Continue reading →
The holiday season is fast approaching like a freight train and with it comes holiday cheer and hopefully more charitable givings. Elle Korea has assembled a huge group of actors, actresses, and idols for it’s annual “Share Happiness” charity photo campaign. The ginormous list of participating stars include: Jung Kyung Ho, Lee Jin Wook, Daniel Henney, Lee Bo Young, Han … Continue reading →
SETTV is a bunch of evil mean trolls because the video preview at the end of In A Good Way episode 6 for episode 7 was such weaksauce compared to the one that just came out today. Holy moly I can’t wait for what’s coming! A game of truth or dare? Jia En and Liu Chuan having skinship during a … Continue reading →
Just an FYI that I’ll probably only have time for baby recaps in the next two weeks since I’m vacation so don’t think I’ve dropped any dramas or have suddenly gone from love-to-hate. Prime Minister and I ended episode 4 on a high note so the wait has felt interminable for episode 5 to drop and now that it’s here … Continue reading →
The love triangle in Empress Ki is one open to lots of debate since there are plenty of fans of either Goryeo King Wang Yoo or Yuan Emperor Ta Hwan. But lately I’ve been thinking the object of the fight Seung Nyang is probably rolling her eyes at them if she wasn’t in such a position of danger and subservience … Continue reading →
I still remember New Year’s Day of 2013 which started off with a bomb blast of news in the Korean entertainment industry with the jawdropping and out-of-left-field coupling of A-list beauty and middling actress Kim Tae Hee with Hallyu superstar Rain. That led to a year’s worth of dating news and with the year about to wrap up in a … Continue reading →
