Thrice Married Woman Can’t Finalize its Cast Because Writer Kim Soo Hyun Keeps Axing the Leads

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This story warms my cockles because it proves that someone with talent and clout actually still cares about quality in Korean entertainment. Everyone’s likely heard now about the casting “problems” with the upcoming weekend drama Thrice Married Woman (She Gets Married Three Times). Apparently leading lady candidates are dropping like flies, with the entertainment news reports all claiming that first … Continue reading →

Two Weeks Episode 8 Recap

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Two Weeks does a good job of balancing the high-lows, the action scenes come in waves while the story line progresses on the slow information trickle that adds to the layers. It’s a coincidence of timing that Two Weeks shows us its central love story as flashbacks much like Who Are You is doing, and this one is starting to … Continue reading →

Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young Back with All Smiles From Their Engagement Picture Spain Trip

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Well well well, look who’s back from a quick jaunt to Spain and looking even happier then when they were leaving. Affianced acting couple Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young arrived at Incheon airport yesterday quite like a newlywed couple back from their honeymoon. They went all out on the couple wear and it was adorable – matching grey hoodies, … Continue reading →

Kang Ha Neul and Kim Ji Won Arrive on Set of Heirs and Additional Elders Cast

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

As the train keeps on chugging along for Those Who Wear the Crown, Withstand the Weight: The Heirs, including getting a clunky English title of Heritors, the huge cast is basically trickling into filming one by one. I’m sure the media will be parked at Incheon airport on September 3rd when the main leads head to LA for filming, and … Continue reading →

Two Weeks Episode 7 Recap

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

So I thought Lee Jun Ki could not possibly get more beaten up in a drama than he did in Time Between Time and Wolf. By episode 7 of Two Weeks, Tae San has pretty much exceeded Soo Hyun’s threshold of pain, and Tae San has 9 more episodes to go! This episode was a nice taut one that upped … Continue reading →

Choi Jin Hyuk is a Dreamboat Groom for Marie Claire Korea Weddings Issue

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I really can’t complain that Choi Jin Hyuk is everywhere these days thanks to his meteoric rise to stardom after toiling for years as the second or third male lead in K-dramas. I like but don’t love him, but his just released photo spread as a groom in the pages of Marie Claire Korea wedding edition is seriously like a … Continue reading →

Written Preview for Episode 7 and 8 of Two Weeks

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

It’s weird how my watching of Two Weeks rather mirrors the tension and excitement of the drama timeline. When it’s on I’m fully immersed and a ball of nerves. But during the break between weeks I’m totally emotionally checked out. Whereas many dramas that I loved while watching live kept my emotions on a tight leash during its entire run. … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

You what know cured me sobs from today’s sad episode of Who Are You? Flitting around DC and Baidu and finally (I mean finally) hearing some underground rumors about the casting of the other male lead of the upcoming Ha Ji Won mega sageuk Empress Ki. Joo Jin Mo has already taken the role of King Chunghye of Goryeo who … Continue reading →

Song Joong Ki Enlists in the Military with a Smile and a Bow

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The Korean military taketh and the Korean military giveth back. Yesterday was a taketh day which means it’s time to pass around a bucket to collect tears. I’ve done this so many times already but it never gets easier to see a favorite off knowing it’s for nearly two years. Song Joong Ki enlisted today at the Gangwondo Chuncheon military … Continue reading →

The Cast of Future’s Choice is Confirmed with Yoon Eun Hye, Lee Dong Gun, and Jung Yong Hwa

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

When one element out of five is the sole question mark, I’m going to revert to my typical optimistic nature of looking at the glass as more than half full hence a pretty high probability that I’ll love it. I went back and read my July 8th post about Yoon Eun Hye and Jung Yong Hwa possibly starring in a … Continue reading →

Movie Actress Han Ye Ri and Lee Jang Woo in Talks to Join Jang Geun Seok in Beautiful Man

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I’m already girded for some fur to fly on this casting news. Jang Geun Seok has been linked to the upcoming manhwa adaptation of Beautiful Man for a month now, even turning down the other male lead in Ha Ji Won’s upcoming mega sageuk Empress Ki because of the conflicting schedules. There were murmurings that Jung So Min was offered … Continue reading →

Heroine Si On Tearfully Remembers Dead Ex-boyfriend Hyun Joon in Who Are You in Episode 9

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This is not a post about That Drama Which Shall Henceforth Not Be Mentioned. I would rather gouge out my own eyes than watch another minute of it, much less provide any recap or post about it. It is soul-deadening stuff, though I can reveal that the moronic heroine (who has a life long calling to make pots and cups … Continue reading →
