I’m sorry, BUT COME AGAIN? So Ji Sub? In a Hong Sisters drama? With Gong Hyo Jin as his leading lady? Okay – Officially Mind Blown. I know the majority of the drama watching world is still pissed at the Hong Sisters for last year’s Big, and perchance they did bite off way more than they could chew. But I … Continue reading →
I welcome the warm Spring air of April along with its new K-dramas with open arms, the disappointments of the Winter drama season all but swept aside like the cold malaise and grey skies of the last few months. One can’t get too hung up on the past, the ability to move on makes for a generally happier outlook on … Continue reading →
This is the episode where I have sadly come to the conclusion that both leading ladies in King Flower are morons. If Du Liang Yen had a man like Terry in her life, forget wanting to experience adventure, she ought to live like the bubble girl for fear of ever dying and thereby losing him. And don’t even get me … Continue reading →
These days I take whatever good news comes out of K-ent like a thirsty desert traveler spotting an oasis. In a shocker that no one saw coming, probably because the participants aren’t huge A-list actors with fans trailing their every move, Lee Ki Woo and Lee Chung Ah have just confirmed they are dating. Awwwww, can we get a “hell … Continue reading →
The upcoming Mokuju (Thursday at 10) J-dorama is the highly anticipated (by me) Last Cinderella starring Shinohara Ryoko, Miura Haruma, and Fujiki Naohito. I’ve noticed for the last few years there has been a spate of old maid dramas from Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, though always starring a truly gorgeous woman we are asked to believe can’t find a man … Continue reading →
I have to confess that I’m casually keeping up with IRIS 2. I can’t explain why, since I barely skimmed IRIS and I checked out of Athena: Goddess of War so fast I left skid marks. If I had to guess a reason, it’s probably my love for Jang Hyuk together with Lee Da Hae. They just make me happy … Continue reading →
Lots of folks who are iffy about Suzy are perhaps hoping her starring role in the high profile Gu Family Book will change their impression of her. I adore Suzy, but its not for her acting ability as much as its for her onscreen charm and potential. I don’t think her performance in GFB will vault her over the hump … Continue reading →
After watching the special episode for Rich Man, Poor Woman, there isn’t a doubt in my mind that it was warranted. It wasn’t just necessary, it was satisfying and entertaining with a sense of freshness missing from dramaland lately. The SP captured the effervescence of the original dorama and took it to new places. After this, I’m pretty much onboard for a season … Continue reading →
Janine Chang and Vic Zhou are one of those onscreen couples that really work for me despite not having a definitive OTP project between them. Janine has done two dramas with Zai Zai, Black & White and Returning Home, but she’s probably most memorable for hitting up the F4 boys with her pairing with Jerry Yan in The Hospital. Janine … Continue reading →
Woah momma what do we have here? While the more high profile upcoming sageuks Gu Family Book for MBC and Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love for SBS have been getting the majority of the press and attention (also because they are airing head-to-head), over at KBS the cast and crew have been quietly filming The Fugitive of Joseon (the … Continue reading →
With the end of That Winter, The Wind Blows, Spring has officially arrived in dramaland and with it comes a spate of new primetime dramas to check out. Will it continue my ennui from Winter, or will I snap to rapt attention? This week saw the premiere of When a Man Loves and All About My Love, the former is … Continue reading →
Surprise! Ha, even after a year I still flashback to Big when I write that. Yeah, that drama was wack-a-mole ridiculous in plot, but I got so much out of it feelings-wise. I guess that same opinion could be applied to Yoo Seung Ho‘s last drama before his enlistment, Missing You, so I get why people like it, but there … Continue reading →
Oh King Flower, why you have to go break my heart. And piss me off royally in the process. It’s like you and I were unexpected BFFS, but then our love affair is potentially going down the drain as quickly as it began. I can’t blame the drama, or any of the actors, I can only lay the blame on … Continue reading →
