Kim Nam Gil and Son Ye Jin are confirmed as the leads for upcoming revenge drama Shark, and there goes another notch in my little birdie says casting rumor mill. This pairing came out of left field when I heard about it three weeks ago, and it still hasn’t quite settled in with me yet. It’s not that I think … Continue reading →
Hell, Lee Seung Gi as Choi Kang Chi in Gu Family Book looks so cute I can’t even. That little pony-tail thingie does wonders for his usually cringe-worthy hair, and makes him simultaneously hotter yet more boyish. Don’t ask me how, it’s probably one of those mysteries of the universe. The second batch of official stills arrived from MBC today … Continue reading →
One caveat before I get started with my update on the increasingly awesome King Flower (also known as Substitute Princess) – Chris Wu is one of my TW-drama biases. I love him. Loved him since Autumn’s Concerto (and I’m still angry at Ady An or Liang Mu Cheng or whatever her name is), loved him in Zhong Wu Yen (blind or … Continue reading →
We all agree that PPV is out of control in dramas these days, but when the PPV is showing up already in official drama stills, then we’ve sort of reached the point of no return. One can guess how much a drama’s storyline is written around PPV, but trust me when I say its way more than we realize. When … Continue reading →
This is probably my last post on the Park Shi Hoo rape case in the near term until the police investigation wraps up, which the Western Police Station has stated that it will do in the next two months. Once it wraps up the investigation, its findings will be transferred to the Seoul prosecutor’s office and the prosecutor assigned to … Continue reading →
Soooooo……how should I put this……somewhere between zoning out and putting me to sleep was the first teaser for Jang Ok Jung. However much the first teaser for Gu Family Book was exciting and got me all interested, is however much the first teaser for JOJ failed epically to do the same. I get that the adults have just started filming … Continue reading →
Kyaaaaa~ I can’t take this much goodness all at once! MBC is not dithering around that’s for sure. Right after releasing the super adorable and squee-worthy official stills of Lee Seung Gi in Gu Family Book, the production up and dropped the first video teaser as well. It’s like getting an unexpected inheritance and then winning the lottery later in … Continue reading →
I love it when high-profile and big-budgeted primetime K-dramas go head-to-head with the same premiere date. When dramas airing on the same time slot have staggered premieres, it makes it harder to gauge audience interest since a drama with a head start in airing can build up viewers already or if it sucks so bad viewers are dying for something … Continue reading →
*Incoherent spazz attack* Ever since it was announced late last year that Lee Seung Gi was doing the fusion sageuk Gu Family Book, I’ve been in waiting mode to unleash all my pent up excitement at seeing my baby boy taking his acting challenge one step further and tackling a sageuk. I’m glad he chose a fusion and is playing … Continue reading →
There are young actors like Joo Won, who I swear is on track to work himself into an early retirement. He’s done three drama’s back-to-back-to-back, all while juggling a reality show, and has already committed to a movie before he’s even done with his current drama. I have no complaints about his hardworking attitude, but conversely there is a young … Continue reading →
Awwwww, these two are so super duper cute together! It really is a shame one guy had to lose out on winning the heart of the girl in Flower Boy Next Door, because in terms of chemistry Park Shin Hye had it with both Yoon Si Yoon and Kim Ji Hoon. Oddly enough, I thought Park Shin Hye’s onscreen chemistry … Continue reading →
With the Park Shi Hoo rape investigation dominating the entertainment headlines in Korea, and for good reason since its like a circus freakshow crossed with a very badly written makjang weekend drama mixed with a CSI rip-off, yet another really alarming police investigation and scandal has reached an apex this week. Since early February police in Seoul have been investigating … Continue reading →
Talk about fact imitating fiction and becoming truth. In what might have been the seemingly most random coupling in 2013 behind Rain and Kim Tae Hee, singer-actor Yoon Kye Sang and former Miss Korea-turned-actress Honey Lee are in the confirmed early stages of a relationship. That would make Yoon Kye Sang public enemy number one of most men in Korea, … Continue reading →
