Happy birthday, Roy! Can I just say that my honey is ON FIRE in episode 12 of Miss Rose. In fact, this may be one of the best episodes yet. But then the preview for episode 13 shows me this show is nowhere near peaking and even more awesomeness is around the corner. Can I time travel to next Sunday? … Continue reading →
I’m not sure what it is about dramas populated by actors with large fan bases, but the propensity to project and read between the lines is magnified to the point where if people express an opinion that opinion could be distorted and turn into a runaway train. I could care less what others think, but here are my opinions on … Continue reading →
It’s weird how addicting Nice Guy has turned out to be. Despite my pre-release excitement over watching a bona fide melodrama, part of me worried that this thing would sink like a ton of bricks by being painfully plodding and trying to pull tricks out of a hat. Now that NG is halfway done with its run, the drama has … Continue reading →
Annie Chen is making a niche for herself as the queen of the daily dramas, with her Inborn Pair quite the surprise hit last year and next month she’s coming back to SETTV via the daily drama Love, Now co-starring George Hu. I thought she had great chemistry with her IP co-star Chris Wang, but I’m betting based on the … Continue reading →
Park Bo Young and Song Joong Ki are seriously soooooo cute together I’m thisclose to shipping them in real life. Sorry Moon Chae Won, I love your Eun Gi, but in terms of off screen chemistry these two get my vote. These two have been doing the interview circuit recently for the movie and I love their playful banter, especially … Continue reading →
Might as well string me up and beat me, the pain will at least be short lived, whereas Missing You will haunt me for 24-episodes equal to 12 weeks equal to 3 months. That’s a long time to suffer the pain of seeing two of my favorite actors in the same drama where they are not the OTP. Seriously? If … Continue reading →
I’m going to have to steel myself for some noble idiocy coming up in Miss Rose, but I’m hoping its short-lived and works well to push Si Yi to confront her growing feelings for Cheng Kuan and figure out what that means. I think our intrepid Miss Rose is herself at a stage where many issues are converging and she … Continue reading →
If you love wuxia dramas and saw that picture above without any context, chances are you’d be screaming and running around like a headless chicken, much like I did for a good 2 minutes. Since I’m a Louis Cha wuxia fangirl, anytime his novels gets yet another drama adaptation I’m all over it like cat on cream. Even if the … Continue reading →
I now own a giant poster of Roy Qiu I don’t know what to do with (see above where the two tiny hands are holding it up for me). Mainly because I’m not 16 anymore, or whatever age it is that girls plaster posters of cute guys on the wall. I considered making out with it per the enabling friends … Continue reading →
Episode 10 of Nice Guy marks the midway point of this drama, and feels rather lightweight as a standalone episode in a drama full of tension-filled and taut moments. Nevertheless, this episode was critical in setting up multiple arcs that will surely be delved into in the second half, but overall I’m still left unsure of where it’s all headed. … Continue reading →
Man, just seeing the first official stills from Missing You gave me a good laugh. Don’t get me wrong, the stills are gorgeous, the two young leads Yeo Jin Gu and Kim So Hyun are gorgeous, and the entire mood of the two teenage lovers frolicking in the rain and looking all moony at each other is gorgeous. But can … Continue reading →
When watching the last scene of episode 9 of Nice Guy, I’m once again struck by Lee Kyung Hee‘s preparation for this drama. Details from previous scenes reemerge in new ways to move the story forward, and the PD knows just how much flashback and when to use it judiciously to heighten the mood without making us feel like morons. … Continue reading →
Oh wow. That was interesting. Not sure if I can go about making heads or tails of what episode 9 of Nice Guy did to the drama narrative as a whole, but it definitely took a great leap forward. Whether that leap is in the right direction only time can tell, but I wouldn’t write off what happened as crazy … Continue reading →
