Upcoming modern C-drama SOP Queen held a press conference this week to prepare for the drama’s premiere on July 15th. Leads Chen Qiao En, Hans Zhang, and Godfrey Gao were all on hand looking happy and tanned, a sure sign they enjoyed making this drama. Chen Qiao En even got simultaneous cheek pecks from both her leading men, which is … Continue reading →
The first stills for next week’s episodes of Big have appeared, and it surely relaxes all of us worried that Da Ran might get cold feet about choosing Kyung Joon despite the kiss at the end of episode 12. I’m going to say Kyung Joon, instead of Kyung Jae, because I really feel that Da Ran is in love with … Continue reading →
With Love Forward finally ending (the drama was mind numbingly boring for me), SETTV must be licking its chops waiting for Roy Qiu’s Miss Rose (螺絲小姐要出嫁) to quickly take its place. Premiering on July 22nd, the drama not only shares a male lead with last year’s ratings wunderkind Office Girls, but the title is purposely similar in cadence and concept. If … Continue reading →
Drama lovers have no inkling what perseverance and determination a manga lover needs to have to endure an addiction to a long-running serial. It’s thirty plus years now for oldies like Glass no Kamen, and most recently I’ve been reading 7 Seeds and I doubt it will end anytime in the next decade. So it’s always a relief when any live … Continue reading →
The million dollar question is (or billion dollar if we take into account inflation) – will To the Beautiful You (K-version of Hana Kimi) turn out to be a Boys Before Flowers (K-version of Hana Yori Dango) or a Playful Kiss (K-version of Itazura na Kiss)? I’m talking about domestic ratings, of course, as BoF was a surprising hit while … Continue reading →
I’m so angry and all I want to do is slap a certain beyotch until she sees stars. The written preview for episode 13 of Big is out and it send my blood boiling and blood pressure rising. It’s really short, as per the usual KBS style of leaving us clamoring for more. But what it does say leads me … Continue reading →
Mind maps of drama characters have been quite popular for a few years now, as fans of a drama take the time write up what our beloved characters have rattling around in their fictional brains. For Big, this mind map might actually be useful because this is one drama that causes a lot of consternation over what Da Ran and … Continue reading →
This yeoja is seriously stunning. I often think its a travesty to film Ha Ji Won in anything less than all glammed up, because she brings the feminine oomph dialed up to 120. But then again, I think she’s a fantastic actor and can do anything. Which is why I’m hoping after she wraps the K-movie Joseon’s Angels, she’ll take … Continue reading →
TTV has had a stronghold on the Friday night time slot in TW-dramas for quite some time. Ever since The Fierce Wife was a blockbuster, many of its dramas get lots of publicity even when the ratings aren’t that robust, like Ex-Boyfriend which had an ending that stunned the viewers. With In Between wrapping up in a week, coming up is … Continue reading →
Arang and the Magistrate got a two week premiere push back thanks to the London Olympics, but the drama started filming already back in June, hence we’re lucky enough to take a peek at the first teaser already. Starring Lee Jun Ki as a ghost-seeing Joseon magistrate and Shin Mina as the titular ghost, the drama is like a smorgasbord … Continue reading →
He’s back, he’s back, he’s really really back! While Kim Nam Gil‘s imminent release from military service is getting way more publicity, since his agent has been fielding drama offers left and right, I’m way more excited about how Kim Ji Hoon totally snuck back under the radar. His entrance into military service was low key and now his release … Continue reading →
It’s not often we see Jung Woo Sung dwarfed by another actor, since he’s one of the tallest Korean actors around. Turns out he’s tall but not that tall when he was in Milan last week for the Dolce & Gabbana show. Also there was Taiwanese actor and model Godfrey Gao, and the two of them hung out and took … Continue reading →
What did I say about this drama being renamed Hands. Look at their hands! I have either became omniscient from watching too many dramas, or else my all-encompassing love for Big flipped my brain on extra-smart mode. Episode 12 reveals more plot developments that continue to validate my earlier theories, but at the same time giving me so many wonderful … Continue reading →
