Will this cross-over thing ever end? Apparently not, as yet another Korean actor is working abroad. Lee Da Hae has just been confirmed as the lead for the upcoming modern C-drama called Love Actually. Her co-stars are none other than Koala faves Joe Cheng and Li Yi Feng. So Feng Feng has played the younger brother to Mike He already … Continue reading →
New year, new spokesperson for Basic House, the Korean casual chic brand. Last year the company paired up Moon Geun Young and Won Bin in one of the oddest pairings in recent memory. Both of them did fabulously when posing alone, but together they gave off uncle and niece vibes all around. This year the company has tapped the popular … Continue reading →
The first teaser is out for the upcoming K-drama Feast of the Gods, which is flying so far under the radar it might as well declare itself undercover. The drama stars seasoned actors Sung Yuri, Joo Sang Wook, Lee Sang Woo, and Seo Hyun Jin, with the only synopsis available saying that it is about Korean cuisine. Since it’s a … Continue reading →
If I was recording myself when I clicked on the video below, the noise I made might have hit new decibel levels of happy shrill screaming. With 25 days to go until his release, Lee Jun Ki‘s official homepage posted a newly shot teaser video of Jun Ki getting ready for his comeback. With just a few seconds of Jun … Continue reading →
I rather like the conceit of The Moon that Embraces the Sun in having Yeon Woo lose her memories about her past. It’s less painful that way for her, and also allows us to watch Yeon Woo and Hwon fall in love all over again. Which they will surely do. While young Yang Myung resonated with me because he lost … Continue reading →
My general take away from the press conference for Dream High 2 consists of two main observations – why the bleeping bleep are there a billion cast members attending, and why are almost every single one of the ladies dressed like a skank ho ready to show her lady goods to a few million drama viewers? Neither of my points … Continue reading →
At the rate the ratings for The Moon that Embraces the Sun is rising, MBC likely has the biggest sageuk hit on its hand since 2010’s Dong Yi, and might even rival the ratings juggernaut that was its biggest hit in years, 2009’s Queen Seon Deok. I appreciate how the drama is moving along so quickly, even if I get … Continue reading →
Two big drama casting confirmations came out this week in The King 2 Hearts and Rooftop Prince, and both left me slightly cold. Rather than reunite Ha Ji Won and Jo In Sung, the upcoming MBC drama The King will instead find Lee Seung Gi to play the role of the fictional King of South Korea who finds himself married to … Continue reading →
I don’t quite know what is going on with Ivy Chen‘s performance in Skip Beat. I know she’s a good actress, though she is hit or miss depending on the role. By all accounts SB ought to be perfect for her. Just look at her! She is literally a manga character come to live, with her wide-eyes, tiny face, and … Continue reading →
Just because Office Girls is about to end doesn’t mean the fun loving cast will welsh on a promise. Back when OG broke 5 in ratings, which resulted in Roy Qiu making good on his promise to wear his onscreen dinosaur outfit and drive a go-cart around, his leading lady Alice Ke promised that if OG broke 6 in ratings … Continue reading →
Perfect Two with Vic Zhou, Ella, Yang Mi, and Xiao Xiao Bin finally premieres this weekend, just in time for the start of Lunar New Year celebrations, capping off a heavy two months of promotional activities for the cast. The movie is a remake by the same director of his own successful 1980s movie, but slightly updated for our more … Continue reading →
Another cable drama has been flying under the radar and quietly filming for some time now. Finally Chosun TV has confirmed a start date of February 6, 2012 for its fantasy political thriller Hanbando, starring Hwang Jung Min and Kim Jung Eun. The story centers around a fictional future where the Korean peninsula (Hanbando) is unified. Hwang Jung Min and … Continue reading →
The first poster for Love Forward with Amber Kuo and Tammy Chen is out, and I think I am in love. With the poster, that is. It just taps into the girly girl in me, with the pretty pink hued colors and the Alice in Wonderland-esque vibe. Plus the tagline of “Money or Honey” is adorable and bonus points for … Continue reading →
