The upcoming TW-drama with the tentative English title Ring Ring Bell (the literal translation of the Chinese title is Please Ring Twice With Sincerity 真心請按兩次鈴) with Janine Chang and Peter Ho has finally released official stills. The drama is currently gearing up for its early October premiere on Sundays on CTS. I’m really coming around with the thought of giving … Continue reading →
The written preview for episode 16 completely took me by surprise. My jaw dropped, in a good way. If this plot development actually happens, and isn’t just another runaround feint (sadly I think it is), then imma going to give Spy Myung Wol props for having the guts to go for broke at this point. C’mon drama, you can do … Continue reading →
A housekeeping item first – I won’t be going back and doing full recaps for episodes 7/8 of Protect the Boss. I want to, but a lack of time and the feeling like it’s homework after my vacation makes me elect to enjoy watching this drama more than feel like I have unfinished business with it. So onwards to episode … Continue reading →
HeonHee is sure having a busy August. Earlier this month they were in Taiwan to promote their drama My Princess, and the tail end of the same month finds them in Japan doing the same thing. Song Seung Heon looks a little less gaunt than when he was in Taiwan, and I’m always happy to see my oppa looking healthy … Continue reading →
Truth be told, while I was more interested in Poseidon in its first incarnation (with Eric and Kim Kang Woo) than in its resurrected incarnation (with Choi Siwon, Lee Sung Jae, and Lee Shi Young), neither version really captures my interest completely. I think Poseidon, premiering in two weeks on Mon-Tues on KBS, will actually be in a pretty ideal … Continue reading →
How is this not the OTP? Practical and down-to-earth butt poor girl meets calculating and acerbic nerdy billionaire heir. Yes yes, I know Kyoya in the manga/anime of Ouran High School Host Club isn’t even guy2, but the drama is definitely setting him up to be guy2, so that’s my canon and I’m sticking with it. The problem isn’t even … Continue reading →
Oy, Spy Myung Wol is like a recalcitrant child. I compliment it once for having a comparatively sane and decently plotted last (re: previous) episode, and it decides to make me wish I withheld the compliment because this episode appeared to have made a great effort to go the opposite direction. With the exception of one great scene (thank you … Continue reading →
Do you want an even larger scale version of Ouran High School Host Club, a story that has already evolved from manga to anime and now to live-action drama. I want! And my wants appear to be immediately fulfilled, because the cast of Ouran attended a fan meeting in Tokyo last week and announced that they will be starring in … Continue reading →
OMG, this episode of Ouran High School Host Club had me making incoherent noises at my screen, with my mouth flapping open and closed like a fish out of water. It was so good I couldn’t even pick a single picture to top the post, but instead let you guys decide which of the two makes your toes curl. Tamaki … Continue reading →
Protect the Boss, why are you so perfect? How do you do it? Is the scriptwriter on some special (legal) sauce, cuz I will fly to Korean to procure some for myself. The video preview for episode 9 is out, and I found myself hopping up and down in my chair squirming in delight. Na Yoon crashing with Myung Ran … Continue reading →
Setting aside the shoddy script for Spy Myung Wol, this drama is actually really dramatic in ways that K-dramas have done less of in recent years. Everything happens so quickly and in such heightened degree in SMW world, from the stakes to the emotional bonds. If the writing were tighter (less redundancy), then the drama would be able to sell … Continue reading →
The written and video previews for episode 15 of Spy Myung Wol actually interests me, because it appears the story is making significant headway in plot. Rather than repeat the he loves me-he loves me not carousel of angst that has been dragging for the last 8(!) episodes, if the final few episodes have a united in love Kang Woo … Continue reading →
Not all K-drama kisses are created equal. Some just happen, more for fan service than anything, without moving the characters emotional trajectory forward all that much. Consider it a fly-by kiss. Other kisses are of vital importance, the kind that confirm feelings and break down barriers. Will the kiss between Ji Heon and Eun Seol end up like their first kiss, … Continue reading →
