Absolute Darling Releases Official Stills of the First Meeting Between the Lady and Her Robot Boyfriend

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

After luxuriating in two back-to-back awesome TW-dramas this year, I sometimes forgot how much TW-productions love to sensationalize media-worthy nuggets of promotional material. GTV released a batch of official stills from its filming of Absolute Darling, starring Jiro Wang and Gu Hye Sun. Why oh why am I not surprised that the stills are all of the money-making scene when … Continue reading →

Previews for Episode 20 of 49 Days

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Aish, I don’t know what to think. The written preview doesn’t reveal much about episode 20, nor does the new video preview I have linked to below shed any definitive light on what’s to come. If 49 Days weren’t so unpredictable, I’d cast my vote on Ji Hyun being the one to ride the final elevator with Scheduler, this time … Continue reading →

Best Love Episode 5 Recap

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I almost had an out-of-body experience today, going from bawling my eyes out to cackling like a loony hyena. It’s a credit to a great episode of Best Love (The Greatest Love) that I was immediately able to cease my caterwauling the moment episode 5 started and immediately get swept back up into the laughter and the swooning this drama has … Continue reading →

49 Days Episode 19 Recap

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Apparently it is possible to write a recap when one’s eyes are nearly swollen shut from all that sobbing and wailing. Good to know. But I wonder what’ll happen tomorrow, when I’ll probably burst a tear duct or something like that. Whatever comes will come, and today’s recap is solely about episode 19 of 49 Days. The production of 49 … Continue reading →

Written Preview for Episode 6 of Best Love

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Best Love continues to get better and better, and my love for it continues to increase bit by bit. This drama always takes me by surprise, and so far nothing has been predictable or dull in terms of plot development. I laugh and swoon within seconds of each emotional twist and turn, and end up with a feeling of contentment.

A twelve-minute long official promotional trailer has been released for the upcoming movie My Kingdom (Da Wu Sheng 大武生) starring Han Geng, Wu Zun, and Barbie Hsu. Just a week after the movie held it’s press conference, director Gao Xiao Sheng found himself on the other side of the law after being arrested for drunk driving, and he was immediately … Continue reading →

Video Preview for Episode 19 of 49 Days

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Okay, I give you all permission to cry right now. No need to wait until actually watching episode 19, you might as well let the tears flow earlier. Maybe we’ll all be so cried out (not to mention severely dehydrated), when we actually watch episode 19 we won’t need to pause every three seconds to blow our nose and wail … Continue reading →

Lie to Me Episode 4 Recap

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Do I want to keep watching Lie to Me? The answer is yes. Do I think it’s good or has the potential to be a solid drama? The answer is, sadly, no. How do I reconcile these seemingly contradictory things? By shucking all remaining expectations out the window (bye bye) and start with a brand new premise. Lie to Me … Continue reading →

City Hunter Holds Press Conference and Releases Extended Trailer

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama City Hunter held it’s press conference yesterday. The cast showed up to introduce their drama to the media and present a 9 minute trailer (linked below). I think the cast is quite pretty, no doubt about it, but I’m just not getting that added oomph of chemistry from the group. I do wonder if Goo Hara … Continue reading →

Love Keeps Going with Mike He and Cyndi Wang Releases Two More Trailers

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Man, if this drama makes me end up sick of bread imma going to be pretty PO’d. Two more teaser trailers for Love Keeps Going (which is the official English title for the TW-drama Mei Le, Go) have been released. I’ve translated the voiceovers to try and understand what this drama will be about. I think the colors of the drama look quite … Continue reading →

Park Shi Hoo Joins Moon Chae Won in the Upcoming KBS Sageuk The Princess’s Man

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

We finally have our Romeo to romance his Juliet. Moon Chae Won was cast a few weeks ago as the lead in The Princess’s Man, an upcoming KBS Wed-Thurs sageuk (to follow Romance Town), which is being described as a Joseon-era Romeo and Juliet. Today news reports have finally confirmed that Park Shi Hoo has been cast as the Man … Continue reading →

Lie to Me Episode 3 Recap

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

It’s disappointing for me to discover that Episode 3 of Lie to Me didn’t make any moves to improve on the first two episodes. It moved the plot forward in the most perfunctory of ways, without laying any solid emotional groundwork. Of all the May dramas, this was the one drama I personally wanted to love the most, but I … Continue reading →

Drunken to Love You Episode 5 Recap

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This was a markedly slow episode, low on the zany antics and fast-paced story progression, but high on the rich emotional forward momentum. The ending of this episode also guaranteed that each and every single Drunken to Love You addict would be gnawing on our right arm for next week when we get to episode 6 which promises us, in … Continue reading →
