SBS held the first drama awards of 2023 among the three big networks and it was a muted affair due to the days earlier passing of top actor Lee Seon Kyun. All the stars wore black except for one white and grey but there were definitely no one in anything colorful or eye catching. Kim Tae Ri and Lee Je … Continue reading →
Dang, the claws are out with the entertainment reports in South Korea haha. I don’t know if they just DGAF but this seems like a way to burn bridges with stars. The K-ent reports voted for this year’s rudest intervewee among the stars and number 1 goes to top movie actor Hwang Jung Min who has refused to do any … Continue reading →
So this whole issue needs context and I’ll do my best to provide. Apparently Liu Yu Ning has been accused of working behind the scenes to increase his scenes for dramas in recent years, don’t ask him how he accomplishes it if that is indeed what he does. This is one reason Zhao Lu Si‘s fans went berserk hearing she … Continue reading →
As news swirls and the shock starts to wear off with the passing of top Korean actor Lee Seon Kyun, hopefully the family can grieve in peace and start to make sense of this senseless event. He was laid to rest today on December 29th, two days after he committed suicide and I don’t know if it’s Korean culture for … Continue reading →
I didn’t watch this drama but it was definitely a big hit for this summer of 2023. I’m talking about wuxia drama Mysterious Lotus Casebook, which takes Cheng Yi out of his suffering xianxia god string of dramas and into a more subdued but still interesting period setting. He’s fielding a lot of project offers right now and also up … Continue reading →
So this was supposed to be a busy week for K-ent with year end drama awards scheduled for this coming weekend on the 30th and 31st. My take is the events will still go on despite the bombshell sad news of veteran male lead Lee Seon Kyun‘s unexpected passing. But one event did get cancelled and that was the press … Continue reading →
K-actor Lee Seon Kyun committed suicide yesterday on December 28th and now more details are emerging. He left a suicide note to his wife actress Jeon Hye Jin, she found it and called the police immediately. The police found his car less than 30 mins later but he was already deceased inside with alcohol bottle and charcoal briquettes. His suicide … Continue reading →
So this news is surprising but I won’t read too too much into it yet. K-net this week reported that both Lee Jong Seok and Go Min Si have declined the drama I am Against My Own Romance at the same time. The drama is from the PD of Descendants of the Sun and has pre production buzz due to … Continue reading →
K-ent is still digesting the news of award winning K-actor Lee Seon Kyun‘s suicide death a day ago on December 28th and I cannot even fathom what his family and close friends are experiencing in pain. He committed suicide in his car after leaving a suicide note to his wife actress Jeon Hye Jin, it was she who called the … Continue reading →
I audibly gasped and am absolutely in total shock hearing this news. This morning December 27th in Seoul K-actor Lee Seon Kyun was found by police unresponsive in his car. Early news reports just said he was unconscious when found but shortly thereafter police confirmed he had passed away. He was 48 years old and leaves behind his wife actress … Continue reading →
C-actor Zhang Wan Yi had a banner year thanks to Lost You Forever elevating him to great reception but he was already on the up and up and has two period dramas forthcoming. One is with Ren Min called The Rise of Ning that finished filming awhile ago and the other is called Liu Zhou Ji (also known as Hidden … Continue reading →
Filming wrapped a few months earlier for period C-drama The Double with the more lyrical Chinese title Ink Rain Between the Clouds so the drama will most likely air in 2024. It will mark a comeback for leading lady Wu Jing Yan after 3 years and even more pressing after a slew of drama misses after her career making hit … Continue reading →
So the week before Christmas all was not quite well in certain corners of the C-ent universe. There were talks recently of Dylan Wang joining Dilraba Dilmurat in a C-drama titled Love on the Turquoise Land (枭起青壤) where she would remain top billing as she has been in multiple dramas now for the past few years. Then came news that … Continue reading →
