I’ve heard the Disney+ K-drama Moving described as more similar to a US show with the ensemble cast, time spanning story, superpowers, conspiracy, and without the usual two main leads set up in K-dramas that the story centers around. That makes sense since it’s a sprawling cast and so great to have big names take on a good role even … Continue reading →
Gosh this trend and feedback makes me SO HAPPY! Recently premiered tvN Mon-Tues mystery and supernatural and romance drama My Lovely Liar (Useless Lies) got okay ratings and feedback when it premiered but has since been only on a trend up. This most recent week three episodes got new series highs of 3.017% and 3.446%, respectively, in episode 5-6. I … Continue reading →
I thought Jang Dong Gun as the main antagonist in Arthdal Chronicles was the most interesting character onscreen and also expressed the most charisma. He’s back for season 2 Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun continuing to try and rule the land and keep his grip on power. He still has that warrior king vibe looking all grungy and grouchy … Continue reading →
So K-drama Moving may just be Disney+‘s biggest hit to date but with the news that the platform will stop investing in original K-dramas may be too little too late. Since the premiere last week I’ve seen more online chatter for this drama than expected and then to hear that it’s topped the Good Data drama buzz list this week … Continue reading →
Now that C-drama Lost You Forever has finished airing Part 1 I have time and mental bandwidth to check out the recently premiered other dramas and look forward to upcoming ones. The latter most high on my list is Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun which is the direct continuation of the OG drama which aired in 2020. With a … Continue reading →
So this could be true and if so it’s two consenting adults and I also don’t want to render judgment based on the disparity in entertainment industry success level, but goodness is this gossip news just weird. A rumor spread widely through C-ent over the weekend that 60-something top actor Tony Leung has shacked up with 25-year old Cheng Xiao … Continue reading →
Hold your horses peeps because it’s time to binge your brains out, as the final 9-episodes to mark the conclusion of Lost You Forever Part 1 just dropped by Tencent. This was a surprise announced on Monday morning before the episodes dropped that evening so fans were in for a real treat to be able to finish Part 1 in … Continue reading →
This is either how bad Disney+ is with promos or this drama just slipped so far under the radar it was in another time zone because I legit was like what is this when I heard it got scheduled for airing. The Worst of Evil is airing on September 27th on Disney+ with an undercover cop busting a multinational drug … Continue reading →
Time to bid farewell to another drama male lead for the next two years. K-actor Lee Do Hyun enlisted today for his mandatory military service, joining the Air Force in its music/entertainment corps. That’s a solid use of his talents as most entertainers do similar stints and also doing his duty for his country. Lee Do Hyun leaves on a … Continue reading →
This weekend has the new jTBC drama Behind Your Touch airing now that hit rom-com King the Land has finished. Starring Han Ji Min as a vet with the ability to read minds after she touches someone or some animal’s butt pairing up with hot tempered city to countryside cop played by Lee Min Ki and joined by strange newcomer … Continue reading →
Filming remains underway for detective mystery C-drama Guardians of the Dafeng based on the novel of the same name which is high on the buzz radar thanks to male lead Dylan Wang. He’s been on a hot streak since last summer’s surprise hit Love Between Fairy and Devil and Dafeng is his first period drama since with in between he … Continue reading →
So I hope this isn’t one of those bait and switches where news says Lee Soo Hyuk is the male lead and then later we find out he’s just ONE of the male leads and not even the main one. This week K-ent is reporting that versatile and charismatic actor Lee Soo Hyuk is getting his male lead glow up … Continue reading →
It’s sad that Disney+ hasn’t made any headway in South Korea K-drama land despite having a built in brand name with a portfolio of popular Hollywood movies and TV shows to surround its investment into exclusive K-dramas. I’ve heard some have been good but nothing has made a splash in greater buzz, perhaps Snowdrop was as close as it got. … Continue reading →
