It’s good news for married stars Eric and Na Hye Mi! The couple announced today that they are expecting their first child together coming 5 years after they tied the knot in 2017. Eric is already 43 so he’s going to be an older first time daddy and if they have a girl I can totally picture him as a … Continue reading →
C-actor Xu Kai is in much need of a hit and if everyone is still talking about 2018 drama Story of Yanxi Palace them yep. Ancient Love Poetry with Zhou Dong Yu was just mediocre, started off bad but did get its legs in the second half. And the currently airing Republican era detective drama Lost in the Kunlun Mountains … Continue reading →
I think it’s better to stick with the original story in set piece but understand it may have appeal to as broad an audience for the domestic viewers. Last year it was announced that Korean manhwa Remarried Empress was getting a K-drama adaptation. Now there is an update that the drama script is completed but the production is deciding between … Continue reading →
It feels like the end of another era but the beginning of one as well. K-actor Kim Soo Hyun burst out of the gate over a decade ago and during my adult drama watching period no young actor has hit it as big and as fast as him. He was 24 for The Moon Embraces the Sun and the next … Continue reading →
You can call me late to this bandwagon but it doesn’t matter when one watches C-drama One and Only (周生如故 Zhou Sheng Ru Gu). The period romance aired on August 18, 2021 and is considered one of the biggest successes of that year in both ratings and critical reception. It’s adapted from the novel One Life, One Incarnation, Beautiful Bones … Continue reading →
I love me a sageuk tortured OTP, where their differences make them perfect complements and life situations place at at opposite sides. That the Hong Sisters did create that construct in Jang Wook and Mu Deok for Alchemy of Souls makes it even sadder that they got a new relationship breakthrough at the end of episode 18 and frankly I … Continue reading →
Time to drop some good tea for some young cuties! One of the other top gossip stories last month in July 2022 during the airing of C-drama Love Like the Galaxy was around male lead Wu Lei‘s (Leo Wu) personal life. Right when LLTG premiered he was doing a live stream where he shared his Weixin (Weibo/WeChat) landing screen and … Continue reading →
Omo what is this cuteness! Top actresses Gong Hyo Jin and Shin Mina are in a double pictorial for Vogue Korea September 2022 edition that delivers less fashion pretty and more personal pretty. These two essay different vibes of quirky cute and putting them in what is essentially a black and white potato sack masquerading as couture dresses is something … Continue reading →
I hate to tell the Hong Sisters how to write a good drama, but I can definitely tell them what mistakes they are doing to make Alchemy of Souls no longer a good drama and veering into a frustratingly bad one. They are lucky the the jam-packed with excitement start and no real competition in the time slot has allowed … Continue reading →
I don’t know if there will be a Director’s Cut but there is definitely for sure extra scenes and dialogue filmed for Love Like the Galaxy out there. Diving into the sweet abyss of official BTS videos released by the production, who are basically crack dealers during the entire run, I can see leads Zhao Lu Si and Wu Lei … Continue reading →
It’s a good thing Kang Tae Oh is so hot and a good actor, and yes I’m calling him a himbo a bit, because he’s clearly a life idiot. He was celebrating the conclusion of mega hit drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo and was showing off his cake and nearly ended up with cake on ground. He posed with the cake … Continue reading →
Wow, I feel like I just ran a marathon, tired but so satisfied. Period C-drama Love Like the Galaxy ended today with 56-episodes, the production released the final 10 episodes in one swoop and assembled the available cast members for a live watch stream. As expected, the entire drama that started with General Ling Bu Yi investigating black market weapon … Continue reading →
Its for my love of Jung So Min and Lee Jae Wook, both the actress and actor as well as their characters here, that I have not forgotten about Alchemy of Souls in the one weekend hiatus in airing. It’s been two weeks now since the last time I watched an episode and honestly I did not miss it. Of … Continue reading →
