So if this is Seo Ye Ji and Gold Medalist‘s plan for her comeback path it’s definitely…..unique to say the least. I’ve never seen an actor or actress in K-ent actually lean into the reason behind a prior scandal for a comeback role. The new tvN drama Eve portrayed her character as a femme fatale out to seduce rich male … Continue reading →
Dang, I’m starting to get wayyyyy too excited for this drama. Seo In Guk isn’t even in my fave actors bunch but I’ve never disliked him in any role and the ones that don’t work for me the problem is with the script/directing, but when he’s in the right drama like in Answer Me 1997, Shopping King Louie and Hello … Continue reading →
If having no clue what to expect is a good thing then everything about upcoming tvN drama Alchemy of Souls (Korean title Return) fits that bill. I genuinely don’t know what the broader story or even world building construct is like other than souls in reincarnation perhaps and a lot of anachronisms intentionally done. The setting is a fictional historical … Continue reading →
It’s like the facts around Kim Sae Ron‘s drunk driving case from two weeks ago can’t get worse and then it gets worse. K-ent is reporting that the results of her blood test, taken at the hospital as she requested it rather than a breathalyzer test taken on site, is at a level that would get her license revoke. This … Continue reading →
The May baby is here, and since it’s the end of the month it’s a Gemini boy which I love since I’m a Gemini too! Park Shin Hye and Choi Tae Joon announced the arrival of their first born to start week, a baby boy. Mother and child are healthy so that’s great to hear. The couple married earlier this … Continue reading →
I love that there is still so much runway for Korean entertainment in both movies and dramas before it feels like fickle viewers are off to the next thing. Netflix investing in producing its own K-dramas since 2017 has paid off in the runaway hits like Squid Game and also expanding options for its subscribers in other popular dramas. Up … Continue reading →
How does one follow up on arguably the biggest role and drama to date, and one that was twenty years in the making. Lee Se Young was a true child actress, starting very young and one of her first roles was as the younger version of a female lead in Dae Jang Geum in 2003. So sageuks are part of … Continue reading →
I think if I didn’t watch and enjoyed so much the first season of Yumi’s Cells I would probably not be feeling the pairing of Kim Go Eun and Jinyoung in the upcoming Yumi’s Cells 2. There is a noona romance vibe from the stills but in the drama they are colleagues (I think same age) and their chemistry is … Continue reading →
Fortune favors the bold and I absolutely think luck is one of those things that if you think you’re lucky then it feels like 51% of the time things go your way. But upcoming K-drama Jinxed at First (The Jinx’s Lover) has a male lead that is extraordinarily and always unlucky, crossing paths with the female lead that vows to … Continue reading →
Ratings is definitely important and more often than not correlated with how popular a drama is. But the rare instances a drama can get lower ratings but higher online buzz and that’s the cast with My Liberation Notes. For a jTBC cable drama it started with 2.941% which is not super low but the network has seem many dramas premiere … Continue reading →
Well Bloody Heart (Red Single Heart) is now officially a bloody underwhelming entry into the sageuk drama oeuvre, it may end up being a good drama overall but ratings and reception wise it’s a downer for KBS. The network will switch gears in the time slot next with Minamdang premiering at the end of June, a quirky sounding investigative drama … Continue reading →
The K-ent celebrity wedding of the year in 2022 is over but fan love remains strong for the union of top stars Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin. Sadly their honeymoon to LA, NY, and Hawaii was marred at times from ardent and annoying fans but still, it’s a fairytale reel to real dream come true for sure. She’s been … Continue reading →
So one out of seven isn’t bad but still, right on the cusp of her new drama premiere is definitely bad timing. This week K-ent is reporting that K-actress Seo Ye Ji has been sued by a company which hired her as a brand CF but terminated the contract last year in 2021 after she was revealed to have gaslighted … Continue reading →
