Okay, I totally had a deja vu moment when I heard this drama synopsis and wondered if I was back in January 2021 when Hometown Cha Cha Cha was cast. K-ent is reporting that Im Shi Wan and Seolhyun have been tapped as the leads for the countryside romance drama Summer Strike, which legit sounds like Hometown Cha Cha Cha … Continue reading →
The casting response is fast on this drama but it is also not a surprise since top actor Gong Yoo is quite selective on his projects. He was offered the male lead to make a prime time drama return in screenwriter Kim Eun Hee‘s next drama tentatively titled Evil (or The Devil, I’ve seen both). She’s coming back from a … Continue reading →
I don’t know if this was vetted with Lee Seung Gi‘s agency before the announcement but it’s certainly not something I heard before so I wonder if it’s only recently inked or perhaps nearly done so no official announcement until now. KBS presented its entire year 2022 line up of K-dramas and it was all ones previously announced except for … Continue reading →
Why do these babies do this to me! I just want them to be happy and bask in their happy dating lives but no, denial is a River in Egypt and they just have to spring it at the finish line. To date I’m still the most shocked by the news that Roy Qiu and Tiffany Ann Hsu met on … Continue reading →
This case sounds a lot like the allegations against Jo Byung Kyu and both young actors got their big break in Sky Castle together to boot. Rising K-actor Kim Dong Hee, who had a major male supporting role in Itaewon Class and was the male lead in Extracurricular, was accusing last year in 2021 of bullying by a former elementary … Continue reading →
New year and hopefully a new reboot for K-actor Yoo Seung Ho. K-ent is reporting that he’s parting ways with existing agency Story J after his contract expired but the agency replied that it’s still in discussions with Yoo Seung Ho. I think it’s a given he’s going the leave, his last dramas were all either meh to okay but … Continue reading →
So this is a much better preview for upcoming jTBC drama Weather People, I’ve also seen it called Forecasting Love and Weather which I like a whole lot better. The first previews were boring and weirdly anemic in showcasing any chemistry between leads Park Min Young and Song Kang. The age gap showed less that she looks old(er) but more … Continue reading →
It’s a case of back in the saddle for him and ready for her promotion for her. MBC has cast Yook Sung Jae and Jung Chae Yeon as the leads for its mid year 2022 airing K-drama Golden Spoon. It’s a fantasy romance life journey themed drama about a young man who uses a mysterious golden spoon to change his … Continue reading →
Mememememe, count me in with the K-netizens! Actually the C-netizens are also jones-ing for this reunion pairing onscreen and if Lee Do Hyun can work with Go Min Si three times now the drama gods can and must absolutely give us his pairing with IU again. The two were in Hotel Del Luna together where she was the female lead … Continue reading →
I’m in the minority as never having a problem with K-actor Nam Joo Hyuk in his dramas, sometimes he’s just passable but other times he’s perfectly cast and delivers. But he’s never bad to me ever since his School 2015 breakout. So having him cast with movie actress Kim Tae Ri who is one of the shining-est actresses of her … Continue reading →
Baby news with my favorites actresses is always a happy occasion with only the slight caveat when it comes to J-actresses. That industry has the tendency for actresses to genuinely retire from acting, sometimes after getting married and even more probable after having a baby. Cultural, I suppose. With that said, it’s still happy news that Ishihara Satomi is expecting … Continue reading →
So I’m all caught up on Snowdrop through this weekend’s episodes 8-9, which helps now to review the drama on its actual narrative, acting, and directorial merits rather than following along with the controversy. Main takeaways are that Jisoo is not good enough at acting to carry a serious drama as the female lead but nowhere near abysmally awful, her … Continue reading →
I’m glad it’s not all underwhelming or controversial dramas going on in K-ent right now, there is a big positive K-drama development that is finally getting mainstream recognition. Small cable network TV Chosun premiered the K-drama Uncle last month in December right before the holiday season ramp up and it started with 2.351% ratings. Not horrible for TV Chosun actually … Continue reading →
