I feel like the normalization of the fringes of tastes and desires starts when the average person knows someone who likes it, or someone who knows someone. It’s not necessarily a moral decision but more a comfort level, and the upcoming Netflix K-movie Moral Sense (Love and Leashes) will take on a new topic in the traditionally vanilla spaces of … Continue reading →
It’s both not super surprising but also no big deal. K-actress Honey Lee will not be following up her ratings successful last drama One: The Woman with a drama this year in 2022, instead she’ll be welcoming a baby! She announced this weekend that she’s 5 months pregnant and the baby is due in June 2022. The actress got married … Continue reading →
I don’t follow K-pop much beyond having a playlist and whenever idols decide to also act, but some news is worth sharing broadly to bring more positive attention to it. SM Entertainment‘s second gen idol group SHINee has been through ups and downs and has such a positive and strong image even a non K-pop follower like me feels warm … Continue reading →
This was a very interesting and meaty article last week from a K-ent drama critics and you can take from it what you agree/disagree but at least someone did a deep dive into Song Hye Kyo and her latest drama Now, We are Breaking Up. The articles discusses two positives and two negatives with her choice, performance, and outcome with … Continue reading →
I just realized two dramas are premiering in February that have just the age in the title, lol sorry for not making the connection earlier. jTBC‘s Thirty Nine deals with three ladies nearing their forties and the ancillary emotional and life issues, while tvN is bringing Twenty Five Twenty One with the two leads navigating the start of their adulthood. … Continue reading →
It’s a new year and for these three bestie girlfriends it looks like they are on the hunt to live their best lives. The teaser is out for jTBC drama Thirty Nine with Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Ji Hyun playing three friends on the cusp of turning forty years old and still single it appears. But … Continue reading →
Man, I like just one thing about Snowdrop and it’s probably the least likely to happen thing, which is the OTP having a happy ending. It’s a turd bucket of a drama in terms of set up and story line and characterization but after watching the first half the two leads Jung Hae In and Jisoo are actually quite cute … Continue reading →
Twenty years? Seriously, twenty years! Who would have thunk it and who here remembers living through this entire experience which kick started the Hallyu era. Today on January 14th, 2022 marks the exact 20th anniversary of the date Winter Sonata premiered on Korean televisions. I don’t think ANYONE could have predicted on January 14th, 2002 that this drama would change … Continue reading →
One of the messiest celebrity divorces in TW-ent in recent memory is back in the news this week, thanks to male lead singer Leehom Wang coming out of his two weeks quarantine after coming back to Taiwan from China in the wake of his ex-wife Lee Jing Lei‘s allegations of his mistreatment and misconduct during their marriage. This week he … Continue reading →
Okay, I totally had a deja vu moment when I heard this drama synopsis and wondered if I was back in January 2021 when Hometown Cha Cha Cha was cast. K-ent is reporting that Im Shi Wan and Seolhyun have been tapped as the leads for the countryside romance drama Summer Strike, which legit sounds like Hometown Cha Cha Cha … Continue reading →
The casting response is fast on this drama but it is also not a surprise since top actor Gong Yoo is quite selective on his projects. He was offered the male lead to make a prime time drama return in screenwriter Kim Eun Hee‘s next drama tentatively titled Evil (or The Devil, I’ve seen both). She’s coming back from a … Continue reading →
I don’t know if this was vetted with Lee Seung Gi‘s agency before the announcement but it’s certainly not something I heard before so I wonder if it’s only recently inked or perhaps nearly done so no official announcement until now. KBS presented its entire year 2022 line up of K-dramas and it was all ones previously announced except for … Continue reading →
Why do these babies do this to me! I just want them to be happy and bask in their happy dating lives but no, denial is a River in Egypt and they just have to spring it at the finish line. To date I’m still the most shocked by the news that Roy Qiu and Tiffany Ann Hsu met on … Continue reading →
