I knew there was a reason I love Ha Ji Won, aside from her awesome acting and bevy of great drama and movie roles I’ve enjoyed under her belt. She’s the latest guest star to the trio of actors traveling around South Korea on a House on Wheels. The episode moves the group off the dry land and onto the … Continue reading →
I don’t know when we’re seeing the new dramas premiere as basically all K-drama filming has been halted now due to the sudden resurgence of COVID-19 in South Korea. With that said, anything new feels even more special and tvN released the first stills for fantasy K-drama Tale of Gumiho with leads Lee Dong Wook, Jo Boa, and Kim Bum. … Continue reading →
If there are enough footage in the can then maybe a week off from filming will not result in episode pre-emptions in the coming weeks but we should get ready for some breaks in our currently airing fave dramas. Due to a spike again in COVID-19 in South Korea, a handful of dramas earlier in the week have already announced … Continue reading →
I wish Song Hye Kyo were modeling another footwear brand because I really don’t like this brand’s shoes so I won’t even mention the name hahaha. I love Song Hye Kyo’s valiant attempt to make what is really fugly Sketchers knock-offs and fuddy-duddy work shoes look interesting. What is interesting is her makeup, a combo of dramatic lined eyes and … Continue reading →
Okay, hearing this story makes me want to punch Katsuji Ryo in the face, like he legit has an asshole punchable face. J-ent reported in June that married for two years star couple AKB idol-turned-actress Maeda Atsuko and kabuki actor Katsuji Ryo were on the outs as in June 2020 he had moved out of their shared marital residence. Maeda … Continue reading →
Normally it’s the male stars that deny deny deny dating/marriage relationships but the last two years has seen TW-actress and model Tiffany Hsu (Ann Hsu) boldly holding firm to the official line that she’s still a single lady. Tiffany of course had the long very high profile young kids in love relationship with Ethan Ruan that everyone was happy she … Continue reading →
Hold my beer because I have to both squeeeeeee and then down the beer with fist bumps because this news is so unexpected and so awesome I can’t even contain myself. The mega hit 2007 K-drama Coffee Prince, further launching and cementing the careers of leads Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye, has also with time also proven to be … Continue reading →
There is no mid-week hump for me, at least not while Flower of Evil is airing in the tvN Wed-Thurs time slot. This drama is the best type of modernized melodrama crack, the classic tropes redefined and elevated to sleek modern mores. The stakes are high for EVERYONE which is why the tense terseness works, we know characters are invested … Continue reading →
I feel like this new COVID-19 outbreak in South Korea could have 100% been prevented as the country did such a good job in February-April in containing the first wave. Alas the relaxation of restrictions and the crazies pushing for normalcy have come to roost as the nation is hitting new daily highs in infections. A few K-dramas, some currently … Continue reading →
Earlier this summer the Korean box office was semi-revived thanks to loosening social gathering restrictions, movie theaters could open but just block off every other seat. A handful of summer movies then premiered and did well enough in these circumstances, such as Alive, Peninsula, and Steel Rain 2. Sci-fi movie Space Sweepers (Spaceship Victory) was supposed to premiere but pushed … Continue reading →
Cable network jTBC hit a grand slam home run this year with The World of the Marriage but the magic didn’t continue with successor drama Graceful Friends. The weekend time slot feels like the new Wed-Thurs prime time days, where the competition is at, and I won’t be surprised if the network schedules currently filming K-drama Run On for that … Continue reading →
It’s now the back end of August so the clock is ticking for Park Bo Gum to enlist in the military but also means we’re getting closer to the premiere of tvN drama Record of Youth. The drama released new stills this week showing the leads hard at work in the modeling and makeup artist roles. Park Bo Gum is … Continue reading →
This is a really odd turn of events and since I covered K-actor Kang Ji Hwan‘s allegations and later conviction for sexual assault last year it’s only fitting to write about new information in the case. Last year in 2019 Kang Ji Hwan was accused by two women of sexual assault, alleging he got drunk and molested and locked them … Continue reading →
