Lee Jun Ki fans all have their “moment” story, and there is quite a diverse array of his K-dramas which have hooked a casual viewer into a convert. Mine is of course the still perfect and very re-watchable Time Between Dog and Wolf, one of his first K-dramas though I watched it a few years after it came out. It’s … Continue reading →
The official poster for jTBC drama 18 Again elicits so many thoughts from me, the main one being WHERE THE HECK is Yoon Sang Hyun’s hand trying to grab?!? Did the photoshopper not realize that he’s literally going from Kim Ha Neul‘s crotch area ahahaha. Then I fell into envy that Kim Ha Neul is so gorgeous and lithe that … Continue reading →
This is the year of time-travel and/or parallel universes, it has been done before in K-dramas but seems lumped together this year with Train, 365: Repeat the Year, The King: Eternal Monarch, and now Alice. This past weekend felt a little empty because the normally bustling with viewer commentary SBS Fri-Sat time slot was empty after Backstreet Rookie ended the … Continue reading →
Change isn’t a bad thing and wearing the same outfit as a female celebrity is a dime a dozen but some coincidences could be one too many. C-actress Zhao Li Ying is swinging back to her acting career full blast after getting married in 2018 and having a baby in 2019, and one of the changes to come may be … Continue reading →
Well this news came totally out of the blue. K-actress Kang Sora is getting married! Her agency released the news this week that the 30 year old actress will be tying the knot at the end of the month, August 29th to be exact. The wedding has been pared down to family and friends in a simple affair due to … Continue reading →
I haven’t read the source material but I am wondering whether the title is literal and what the male lead has against the titular liptsick. Script reading has taken place and filming commenced for upcoming jTBC drama adaptation of manhwa Sunbae, Please Don’t Put on That Lipstick. Initially Jang Dong Yoon was offered the male lead but he picked horror … Continue reading →
It’s finale weekend and I’m going to be sad there is no more Train to board next weekend. The OCN drama ended with a sweet and to the point 12-episodes of tightly written narrative, the sci-fi parallel worlds bit never really made sense beyond being a conceit since the story was so small in scale. Like all parallel worlds it … Continue reading →
If there was a pitch perfect casting of manga/manhwa/webtoon character to real live actor/actress then True Beauty (Goddess as Descended) wins the prize off the bat. The drama adaptation of the same name webtoon is heading into production and the leads are confirmed as Cha Eun Woo, Moon Ga Young, and rising newcomer Hwang In Yeob. To say each looks … Continue reading →
I can imagine both how relaxing it is for a female star to be pregnant during quarantine days since there is no pressure to go out, attend events, and look good, but then again there is always the worry of getting COVID-19 which is majorly no. Plus and minuses aside, it is much easier to keep a bun under wraps … Continue reading →
Wow, imaging winning and also leaving the first season in the dust right off the bat. This Saturday tvN premiered Secret Forest 2 (Stranger 2), the sequel to the critically acclaimed police legal procedural drama of 2018 with the same cast back led by Jo Seung Woo and Bae Doo Na. The first episode got ratings of 7.627% AGB nationwide, … Continue reading →
Streaming giant Netflix got into K-dramas 4 years ago and with it the company has produced exclusive content that can only be watched on the platform along with co-produced works that air on television channels and then Netflix. K-drama The School Nurse Files falls into the former category, it’s produced solely by Netflix and premieres on the platform for streaming … Continue reading →
One reason Korean variety shows set in a more rustic back to nature setting such as Three Meals a Day series or the current House on Wheels is that it gives people living their daily drudgery a taste and dream of going back to simpler days. That seems even more alluring during the year of COVID so far, when many … Continue reading →
My dates with OCN dramas tends to happen only when said drama stars one of my baes. For example, the scary The Guest was a can’t miss for me thanks to Kim Jae Wook, and now I’m onboard the runaway Train for my Yoon Shi Yoon love. It’s so worth it and the drama is so well written (in terms … Continue reading →
