It’s a busy week with K-drama casting dropping like candy from the sky. First up is veteran Ji Sung who takes on dramas when wifey Lee Bo Young isn’t working as the two top stars switch on and off to be home with their little daughters. She’s almost done with her drama When My Love Blooms but hubby is going … Continue reading →
I was hoping Lee Jun Ki would be playing a wrongfully accused baddie in Flower of Evil running from his past but from all the posters including this latest one it just looks certain like he’s really the evil one. Sigh, there goes my happy ending but at least the angst will be through the roof since Moon Chae Won … Continue reading →
I don’t even know how to book flights nowadays because of quarantine restrictions for arrivals at so many places. Sigh, the looming dream of travel must continue to wait. But viewers can live vicariously with K-actor Lee Seung Gi and TW-actor Liu Yi Hao (Jasper Liu) as the two similar personality bright smile sunny disposition young men partner up for … Continue reading →
If you give Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellen the phone book to read the consummate thespians would make it sound interesting. That’s the true test of an actor or actress, to rise above crap and still come out smelling like roses in a terribly written or filmed drama/movie. Such is the case for Born Again, the recently ended KBS Mon-Tues … Continue reading →
With the fate of his band CNBLUE up in the air due to recent scandals, Kang Min Hyuk returned from two years in the military this past March 2020 and will look in the other avenue of his career prospects. He is reportedly going to star in the Kakao streaming drama Not Used to Thirty Yet and OMG that’s such … Continue reading →
If I were still activity recapping I probably would not have the energy to continue on with The King: Eternal Monarch. Needing to describe every scene with a prelude and my thoughts after would only amplify all the problems and I would be hard pressed to muster the commitment to continue. Being able to watch and casually comment has made … Continue reading →
I’ve discussed lead actors and actresses that had a great year but for supporting character performers it has to be Oh Jung Se on the drama side. He won Best Supporting Actor for his role in When the Camellia Blooms which took home the drama Daesang but he was also the second male lead in Stove League which won Best … Continue reading →
The good news is that these second place finishers will all have bright futures and hopefully a win down the road with the Baeksang Arts Awards. The 2020 ceremony was last Friday and the winners were mostly all acceptable to netizens as worthy of the win, but still there is curiosity over the almost ran nominee. The awards body today … Continue reading →
The makeup trends coming out of South Korea have often led the wave of looks for the last two decades, including new products and formulations. The traditional big brands include the iconic French makeup companies have joined the bandwagon because if you can’t out create them then just join the party alongside. What I loved the most when the photo array was shown for the 5 Best Actor nominees for the 2020 Baeksang Drama Best Actor award was how 4 of them were in serious actor mode and 1 was in “I’m so happy to be here” puppy mode. That 1 being Kang Ha Neul who then won for his performance in … Continue reading →
It’s an extra week wait for the arrival of next SBS Fri-Sat drama Backstreet Rookie, dropping now on June 19th. That’s ok, get things buttoned down and more time can be used to prep better. The drama released the official posters today and also a new preview that’s in line with the earlier ones, the tone is comedic and the … Continue reading →
I just realized a funny connection moment, Park Shin Hye played a recluse and near shut in female lead in drama Flower Boy Next Door and now nearly 10 years later she’s the same character but in a different genre and with higher stakes. In upcoming zombie movie #Alive she’s still alive during the early onslaught of a zombie apocalypse … Continue reading →
I don’t even know where to start in discussing episode 15 of The King: Eternal Monarch. If I didn’t continuously want this drama to get better I wouldn’t have continued watching with the hope that it would make sense and coalesce in the second half. It hasn’t, sadly. Time travel logic as viewers know it from so many sci-fi movies … Continue reading →
