I feel like the heavily male skewed main cast of MBC drama Extraordinary You got a lot of attention for Ro Woon and especially Lee Jae Wook but I’m also intrigued by Kim Young Dae. He looks like a younger version of movie star Kang Dong Won but never got to flex in EY because he was the least interesting … Continue reading →
Normally stars attending store openings look awkwardly stuffed into whatever is the brand’s latest looks but the Taiwan star gang that attended this week’s Chanel boutique opening in Taipei are all majorly rocking it. Most notable is the reunion of Bolin Chen and Gwei Lun Mei, still good friends and still top of their craft as actors 16 years after … Continue reading →
Rising young actors and actresses sometimes need luck to get their big break. Such is the case of Jang Dong Yoon who has been in several dramas up til now but his male lead role in KBS sageuk The Tale of Nokdu was tailored made to vault him into star status. He was so beautiful as the cross-dressing widow yet … Continue reading →
If I accidentally landed in North Korea I would be a worried about getting fed to pigs or ending up in a labor camp. But in upcoming tvN romance Crash Landing on You the worst thing that happens to Son Ye Jin is that the hottiest NK solder ever keeps her safe and worries about her. Oh poor her, lol. … Continue reading →
Life is so unpredictable and the saddest of event could lead to the happiest in the span of mere days. Three days after Taiwanese-Canadian actor and model Godfrey Gao unexpected passed away while filming a C-variety show, his best friend basketball player James Ma got married in Taipei as life goes on. Godfrey was supposed to be the best man … Continue reading →
On one hand I’m glad there was some justice served but somehow it doesn’t feel enough and others are still getting away with criminal behavior in K-ent. The judge has sentenced singer Jung Joon Young to 6 years, Choi Jong Hoon of FT Island gets 5 years, and Yuri of SNSD‘s older brother Mr. Kwon will get 4 years in … Continue reading →
C-actress Liu Shi Shi took a short maternity break and is back firing on all cylinders. She won the best dress of the night at the recent Bazaar China charity gala and this weekend at the 2019 Golden Rooster Awards also took everyone’s breath away in a white mermaid gown that looked like she had foam around her shoulders and … Continue reading →
One reason I’m extra steamed about the suckiness of Vagabond was that the stupidity didn’t even have the temerity to come with a side of silly OTP satisfaction. The leads never connected emotionally so I was stuck watching a dumber than bricks investigative shoot ’em up. That’s why I think even if upcoming tvN drama Crash Landing on You is … Continue reading →
Wow, I can’t believe this stealth was pulled off but kudos to the production team. K-ent is reporting that top actress Jeon Ji Hyun will be in the cast of Netflix zombie sageuk Kingdom seasons 2 and 3. Her role will start at the end of season 2 into a major character in season 3. Kingdom has done filming for … Continue reading →
I’ve been waiting patiently for Chocolate much like a kid saves the best for last during a meal. The primary reason is screenwriter Lee Kyung Hee, she who always tugs at my tear ducts and heartstrings with the way she can craft true K-melo the old-fashioned way which frankly still satisfies when done right. Chocolate brings together Ha Ji Won … Continue reading →
MBC has been very weak in the Wed-Thurs slot for quite some time but the last drama Extraordinary You was one of the extraordinarily low rated ones despite the younger skewing cult fan base. This week comes People With Flaws (Love With Flaws) which is geared towards adults trying to navigate the tricky social life of work and love. Starring … Continue reading →
This kills me, he didn’t have to die and there are even more people mourning him. Taiwanese-Canadian actor and model Godfrey Gao passed away this week from a heart attack, collapsing in the early morning hours on the streets of China surrounded by cast mates and crew filming the variety show Chase Me. His agency confirmed he recently had a … Continue reading →
I hope my boy Lee Seung Gi had barrels of fun filming SBS drama Vagabond last year. Because that would have made it worth it that I sat through what amounts to 16 hours of narrative garbage with passable action scenes. I would exile this drama to the trash bin except Seung Gi and goodness he was all hot and … Continue reading →
