The best K-dramas are the ones with a well-told story and a satisfying ending. It has to have both and after finishing Hotel Del Luna this weekend I believe it achieves that mark and viewers agree, piling on the eyeballs for the final episode 16 to help it reach 12.001% ratings. The story was ultimately all about the ghostly management … Continue reading →
It really is true nowadays that even bad publicity is good for a star’s career, for the most part. Gu Hye Sun has been dealing with personal trauma last month with the news that her husband Ahn Jae Hyun is seeking a divorce. Their he said/she said has been aired to the public via SNS updates and official agency statements … Continue reading →
This is a cute update on a high profile star couple with a low profile private life. TW-actress Ruby Lin attended a baby stroller company endorsement this weekend looking ravishing, she’s like the Jeon Ji Hyun of Taiwan with how insane her figure is into her 40s now and having had a baby a few years ago. She revealed that … Continue reading →
I haven’t watched the final episode yet of Hotel Del Luna since I’m traveling this weekend so this post isn’t about what I think about the ending. That’ll be after I watch and digest it but I do want to do a quickie post on the much anticipated Kim Soo Hyun cameo in the final episode of the drama. A … Continue reading →
The first poster for tvN drama Melting Me Softly was all romance, focusing on leads Ji Chang Wook and Won Jin Ah in quiet repose. The second poster brings out the whole kit and caboodle, or the cast I mean, and pivots into the more comedic aspects of the central predicament. The leads were cryogenically frozen for 20 years instead … Continue reading →

Summer of 2019 has been utter catastrophe for K-ent romance, with two high profile divorces book ending the season. It’s the end of ghost month already but one more supernatural movie is hitting the screens this weekend with The 9th Precinct. Even without it starring my fave Roy Qiu it still looks scary cool but with Roy as the earnest cop assigned to the ghostly 9th precinct it’s one I’ll be on the lookout for when it hits streaming. … Continue reading →
The metaphor for Gong Hyo Jin‘s character name Dong Baek being the camellia flower is carried over in the drama title When the Camellia Blooms. She’s not very confident and rather unsure of herself so her blooming happens after she gets involved with the three male leads in various ways, with Kang Ha Neul based on the first teaser being … Continue reading →
This is a bummer for fans of the original but a chance for something entirely different. Eric and Jung Yumi, who have worked together two times before, were in talks to reunite again on the remake of their own hit drama Que Sera Sera from 2007. Unfortunately both have passed on the remake due to scheduling issues but I think … Continue reading →
Dang, the boy and the girl are both so pretty! The first character posters are out for the KBS sageuk drama The Tale of Nokdu based on a popular manhwa. Starring Jang Dong Yoon and Kim So Hyun, it’s the classic (in manga world) cross-dressing romance that has entertained viewers many times before with trendy dramas like Moonlight Drawn by … Continue reading →
I can’t believe it’s been 14 years now since the then upstart and rather random Seoul International Drama Awards started. The 2019 ceremony was held this week in Seoul, of course, and the winners from the K-drama side was Fiery Priest for top excellence drama followed by Dr. Prisoner. In the acting categories, Kim Dong Wook and Kim Nam Gil … Continue reading →
I’m just happy to see Song Joong Ki out and about but I certainly also did a double take and made a flying leap connection when I saw new pictures of him this week. His sageuk drama Arthdal Chronicles is coming back next weekend for season 3 but all the promos were done earlier in the summer for the first two … Continue reading →
