I’m sure the intention behind the posters for OCN drama Kill It is that the two leads are adversarial and on a cat-and-mouse type game with guns drawn. But I’m totally getting the vibe instead that leads Jang Ki Yong and Nana are thisclose to making out with so much heavy tension between them. He’s the contract killer and she’s … Continue reading →
Rain is going to make it a three times the charm of things he’s got on his plate. There’s his biking movie Uhm Bok Dong, then his wife Kim Tae Hee is expecting their second child, and now he’s considering a K-drama return with MBC legal and fantasy drama Two Lives to Live Anyway. The drama is about a top … Continue reading →
A political K-drama is in the works and may unite an established leading man with a still rising young actress. Mostly movie star Lee Jung Jae is reportedly mulling his first K-drama in ten years with the drama Aide (Consigliere). His last drama was the very odd Triple, sooooooo much going on and nothing quite gelling other than a very … Continue reading →
I wasn’t quite sure what SBS upcoming Wed-Thurs drama Big Issue would be about but a tense action flick was far from mind. The previews make it look like a straight up thriller flick with intrigue, hiding, surveillance, and Han Ye Seul doing her best femme fatale impersonation. She pulls it off for sure while male lead Joo Jin Mo … Continue reading →
The undead are still roaming Joseon Korea at the end of the first season of Netflix K-drama Kingdom, and in fact are getting closer to a widespread attack. The short six-episodes was an appetizer masquerading as a full season, and the corrupt powers that tried to resurrect a dead king to use as a puppet inadvertently creating patient zero of … Continue reading →
If there was ever a designer version of a muumuu then this Valentino dress and jacket combo fits the bill. K-actress Park Shin Hye was head-to-toe in the brand’s outfit and accessory leaving Incheon airport for the fashion show and she looked like she could be wearing a plastic bag with the V logo on it. The over-sized jacket is … Continue reading →
Like it or not idol Cha Eun Woo is for sure embarking on the acting path. After his starring turn in My ID is a Gangnam Beauty, he’s now confirmed opposite Shin Se Kyung in MBC sageuk drama Rookie Historian Goo Hye Ryung. I’m excited about upcoming tvN rom-com Her Private Life but even more excited that there is a drama I’m anticipating this much. It’s rare to get truly excited nowadays around K-dramas and I’m so pumped all thanks to casting Kim Jae Wook in his first romantic leading man role. The first filming picture is out with leading lady Park Min … Continue reading →
Sometimes casting can be serendipitous and that’s the case of Shin Sung Rok who is currently enjoying a major career high point thanks to his crazy Emperor role in SBS makjang wackjob drama An Empress’s Dignity. Before doing Empress he was cast and filmed the upcoming tvN drama Vagabond which is slated to air this May. His current popularity coupled … Continue reading →
Normally ageing gracefully is applied to male stars more than the ladies, totally gender biased of course, so it’s always extra sweet to see a teen female star turn into a an adult dynamo with a one-way improvement year after year. Singer-actress Rainie Yang went from gawky rookie to current iteration as a Jolin Tsai-esque chameleon with plenty of hard … Continue reading →
The hits keep on coming for child turned teen actress extraordinaire Kim Hyang Gi. She was the teeny tiny younger sister in Hearty Paws opposite still a kid back then Yoo Seung Ho, and cute dogs, and since then her career has been a trajectory of win after win. She’s now in the history books after her most recent movie … Continue reading →
The thing with Park Bo Gum is that he looks as good in print as he does in motion. He was like a walking suit billboard in the tvN romance drama Encounter (Boyfriend) despite wearing a polyester blend, but he does tend to very young so I also understand why some viewers didn’t connect with his pairing with Song Hye … Continue reading →
This poll pool of this list is on the smaller side, over 2000 viewers asked, but it definitely confirms who I think Japanese fans like among the current male K-actors. Top of the list remains Jang Geuk Seok and when asked why the response is always You’re Beautiful. Same goes for second place Lee Min Ho, everyone who loves him … Continue reading →
