The pairing of Song Seung Heon with smaller niche cable network OCN seems to be a match made in drama heaven as both have really flourished together. Song Seung Heon’s latest OCN drama Player just finished airing with solid ratings starting with 4.474% and staying relative consistent in the 4s to end with 5.083% in the final episode. Player improved … Continue reading →
There’s a delicate balance when doing a drama with a mysterious element in doling out the reveals without leaving viewers too confused and in the dark. So far tvN Sat-Sun drama Memories of Alhambra is doing a solid job at that, we know Park Shin Hye‘s character’s younger brother played by Chanyeol wrote a AR quest game set in Granada, … Continue reading →
The list is out and there are 17 names on it. The good news is that if a star’s name is on it that means said star is an A-lister and one of the top earners in C-ent. The bad news is that the stars on the list were just summoned by the Chinese tax authorities for a meeting and … Continue reading →
The synopsis for the upcoming 2019 tvN rom-com K-drama sounds like a ripped from real life background for countless Hallyu female fans. The network is planning the K-drama Her Private Life adapted from a webtoon called Noona Fan Dot Com, telling the story of a rabid idol fan who presents a professional and capable daily life of a museum curator. … Continue reading →
Episode 3 of tvN Wed-Thurs drama Encounter (Boyfriend) has arrive and…..yup, I’m still totally in love with this show. It grabs my heart in a warm tight embrace for an hour and never lets go, even as I worry for my OTP and rejoice in their tiniest moments of happiness whether together or alone. But mostly together because the show … Continue reading →
I’m expecting the star power at the upcoming 2018 MAMA (Mnet Asia Music Awards) to be as high powered as previous years if not more. On the just announced hosts the awards organizers have just pulled off a simultaneous three-peat. Hosting the Korea portion will be 2018 drama It Boy Jung Hae In thanks to Pretty Noona Buys Me Food, … Continue reading →
Now that the high profile December K-drama arrivals are done with, I can go back to anticipating a potentially fun and fulfilling smaller scale drama with SBS Mon-Tues premiere of My Strange Hero (Bok Soo is Back) next week. It all about my Yoo Seung Ho obsession love and he’s on a rom-com streak lately so I’m hoping My Strange … Continue reading →
I’m not surprised Song Hye Kyo‘s character’s outfits are hard trending in South Korea after two episodes of tvN Wed-Thurs drama Encounter. I was unexpectedly noticing all her clothes, shoes, and accessories as well when I was live watching. In particular, her red shirt dress by high end Korean brand AvouAvou is all the rage now when plenty of knock … Continue reading →
Two new Hong Sisters drama related news dropped and I’m good with both. Actress-singer IU has reportedly been offered the female lead role in the Hong Sisters’ next drama scheduled for 2019. The news reports claim she has accepted but her agency said it’s just one script out of many she’s currently considering. This probably means Jeon Ji Hyun has … Continue reading →
The second to arrive on the Joseon zombie genre has a middle height hurdle to vault to be the better of the two, and honestly I think it will based on the production scope. Netflix drama Kingdom will air in January 2019, a few months after the K-movie Rampant (Outbreak) with Hyun Bin and Jang Dong Gun dealt with the same … Continue reading →
Green looks great on K-stars Lee Jun Ki and Shin Se Kyung especially when it reflects both altruism and the holiday mood. The actor and actress, who haven’t worked together yet on a drama or movie, gave a future pairing visual opportunity this past weekend attending the Green Umbrella Fund‘s gift wrapping for needy children event. They donned green Santa-esque … Continue reading →

This is a great time to strike while the iron is hot for K-actor Kim Dong Wook, coming off a critically lauded and ratings successful turn in the horror thriller K-drama The Guest. His oeuvre has never been mainstream or prime time driven but his next drama may bring him back to the forefront of the big three networks. He’s … Continue reading →
