Next weekend is the arrival of tvN period drama Mr. Sunshine, and I don’t know what the K-netizens are feeling about it but for a big budget Kim Eun Sook penned drama this one is noticeably low on buzz. But if the drama looks as good as it does in the previews then it will continue to get high ratings … Continue reading →
I love pretty wedding pictures and these are quite lovely even if the bride and groom were formerly unfamiliar to me. Now I know that EXO‘s Chanyeol has an older sister named Park Yura who is getting married soon! Park Yura is herself a public figure as the newscaster for YTN channel news and her wedding ceremony is scheduled for … Continue reading →
It’s fairly clear that after a five year long hiatus from K-ent, once the face of Hallyu dramas Yoon Eun Hye has fallen from the first line media radar that I don’t see reports about her often now in English fandom. She’s also not covered as much by K-media but I’m still firm in my affection for her and really … Continue reading →
This is a very timely and nice cameo appearance with lots of synergy to spare. Former drama costars Lee Min Ki and Jung So Min will be making a guest starring appearance in hit tvN rom-com Why Secretary Kim, with the connection being the two worked with Secretary Kim PD who directed their also hit rom-com last year This Life … Continue reading →
K-actress Han Ji Min is well known for being petite so I legit am so floored by how the latest Vogue Korea pictorial make her seem so willowy and tall. The dress above is neigh impossible to wear and she pulls it off, it’s the horizontal zebra stripes is guaranteed to make any woman look fat and yet she looks … Continue reading →
It’s a balance scale if you add up the ratings for two dramas to equal the ratings for at third one, and even more astonishing that the two added dramas air on free prime time networks and the highest rated drama on paid cable. Wed-Thurs is total dudsville in the prime time dramas Come and Hug Me and The Undateables … Continue reading →
I feel like K-ent is determine to boil anyone’s distaste or reservations towards actor Park Shi Hoo like a frog by normalizing his return to drama land. The success of 2017 weekend drama My Golden Life was due to the screenwriter and ensemble but it bolsters the assumption that K-viewers are fine to see him back onscreen. Prior to MGL … Continue reading →
It’s the return of dorky Ji Sung! The first stills are out for Ji Sung in upcoming K-drama Knowing Wife (Familiar Wife), and he’s seen with a campaign sash handing out flyers. I say dorky is the vibe he gives off because of how they saddled him with the slightly ruffled modified bowl haircut. He looks so earnest and adorable, … Continue reading →
I’m glad that I can still get excited for a K-drama based on casting, I was feeling burnt out a few years ago but then found a new balance on how to keep watching dramas and write about it without it turning into a monotonous chore. That reset has kept the fire alive and it feels like a throwback to … Continue reading →
K-actor So Ji Sub has always skewed older to me, even when he was just starting out there was this more mature vibe likely due to his looks and an aura of sensitive melancholy. That makes the pairing for his next drama Terius Behind Me with rising young actress Jung In Sun all that more incongruous, unless he plays the … Continue reading →
The good promo trend continues as pretty official character posters are out for the soon-to-arrive 2018 Chinese and Taiwanese joint production remake of Meteor Garden from 2001. I love these tropical colored posters with the vibrant green and everyone looking their most darnest in portraying their iconic characters from the well known shoujo manga Hana Yori Dango (Boys Before Flowers). … Continue reading →
K-actor Park Seo Joon is on a career high right now thanks to the popular ratings hit tvN drama Why Secretary Kim. But his career has been on the upswing for years and he doesn’t even need to worry about a two year break interrupting the momentum because he’s already done his mandatory military service. This week a new poll … Continue reading →
In the history of bad K-drama casting decisions this is going to rank as one of top three no bueno ideas. K-ent is reporting that disgraced but planning an entertainment career comeback idol-actor Kim Hyun Joong has been cast in an upcoming cable drama. It’s a 12-episode fantasy story called You Whose Time Has Stopped and will be Kim Hyun … Continue reading →
