The Mon-Tues slot is about to get a much needed refresher but sadly it won’t be my favorite battle to the death when three new prime time dramas premiere at the same time. Next week comes the first showdown between Fight My Way with Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won against Lookout with Kim Young Kwang and Lee Shi … Continue reading →
Summer is usually a rough time for singles who aspire to find their special someone as the march into June means the imminent start of wedding season. Facebook feeds are hijacked by weddings in between beach vacations, and this year K-ent is piling on the love parade. A day after engaged couple Joo Sang Wook and Cha Ye Ryun‘s wedding … Continue reading →
Healthy competition is good for all, keeping up the intensity and spurring achievement to greater heights. It’s been a very healthy competition with nary a kitten meow of a cat fight between child actress turned leading actresses Kim Yoo Jung and Kim So Hyun, proving that their fans are either mature or maybe the same group that loves them both. … Continue reading →
Cable network tvN is combining two popular genres time-travel and medical together for its late summer drama. This isn’t the first time K-dramas have done this, most notably Faith and Dr. Jin, but what the major networks couldn’t get right hopefully some tvN magic can pull off considering the drama has now found interesting leads to tackle an ambitious work. … Continue reading →
K-actress Sung Yuri pulled a stealth wedding last weekend to her golfer hubby but most nuptials are announced in advance there are still more planning Korean star weddings on deck for 2017. Coming up next week is the wedding of Joo Sang Wook and Cha Ye Ryun, meeting on the set of drama Glamorous Temptation and falling madly in love … Continue reading →
It’s weird how much I still love Liu Shi Shi considering she hasn’t made a single drama or movie I’ve liked in five years, yet the love from Bu Bu Jing Xin and even earlier in Legend of the Condor Heroes is sustenance enough. I always have hope her next drama will be good and this upcoming period romance Lost … Continue reading →
There’s a whole lotta leading man presence in jTBC drama Man to Man, with a dual leading men structure with Park Hae Jin and Park Sung Woong. This weekend’s new episodes will see the presence of two more leading men popping up in the drama albeit in cameo appearances that will leave their fans thinking it much too short. Song … Continue reading →
Fashion fails come in different styles and this look on C-actress Tang Yan is one of those awkward ones that doesn’t pinpoint a culprit in any single element but combined together becomes a Franken-look. Tang Yan was at the Louis Vuitton fashion show this weekend as a guest and decked out in head to top Louis. She paired a tri-color … Continue reading →
KBS is brewing up a love and libations drama that’s right up my alley, and with a cute name for a drink I adore. Mojito is on the menu for the network and has stirred up the combination of Sung Joon and Lim Ji Yeon as the leads. The drama is about a chaebol heir who gets anxious at night … Continue reading →
I’m cautiously optimistic about pre-produced sageuk A King Loves since it’s adapted from a novel so the story structure has less chance of falling apart. But that optimism is also tempered with plenty of K-dramas failing even on adapting well-written works, not to mention I’m really not liking male lead Im Shi Wan‘s sageuk look. It’s not all on a … Continue reading →
Celeb siblings So Eul and Da Eul are two of the cutest kids in the daddy takes charge variety show Superman is Back. Their daddy is beloved veteran leading man Lee Bum Soo who is prolific in his movie and drama career so clearly knows many people in the industry. For their final episode on the show, Lee Bum Soo’s … Continue reading →
This wasn’t what I expected but definitely looks cool and a nice new evolution in the Kim Soo Hyun acting repertoire. The first movie teaser is here for summer thriller movie Real, billed as a noir piece but now looks more like an action flick. I’m thinking Oldboy crossed with a gangster movie, with plenty of sleek and sultry scenes … Continue reading →
Hopes are high, and usually that’s where dreams go to die but I’m inclined to give this one a shot at bringing in viewers. Upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama While You Were Sleeping pairs together successful screenwriter Park Hye Ryun of Pinocchio, I Hear Your Voice, and Dream High fame with PD Oh Choong Hwan who directed Doctors and You From … Continue reading →
