The fashion pretties gathered this weekend in Taipei at the Christian Dior Flagship Store event at the Breeze Center, a who’s who of Taiwanese stars plug one very chic K-actess Gong Hyo Jin. Last week Yoona was at the Dior event in Hong Kong so clearly the brand is deploying beautiful Korean stars around Asia as further show of the … Continue reading →
Not that any unique star can ever be replaced by a similar star but this development is pretty entertaining to see. J-ent was rocked last week by the abrupt retirement of top actress Horikita Maki, ending her 14 year long acting career at the young age of 28 to become a full time mom and wife. Nothing wrong with her … Continue reading →
It’s a great time to call in the national big guns when it comes to zero negative publicity and 100% charm, what with Korea dealing with cleaning up after a huge political scandal and having to show it’s best side as publicity ramps up for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Kicking off an early ad campaign is Coco-Cola bringing … Continue reading →

He’s enrolled at NYU’s Tisch School for the Arts in the director’s program, clearly … Continue reading →
This is one short maternity leave but knowing workaholic Ruby Lin I’m not surprised in the least. Ruby made a one-two mic drop on her fans this week, first by reuniting with one of her most famous and memorable costars Alec Su at a movie press conference for Suspect X, followed by the news that she accepted the leading lady … Continue reading →
Zombies have taken over for vampires as the supernatural entertainment villains du jour for a few years now, but while K-dramas have done vampire shows there hasn’t been a zombie feature yet. There was Vampire Prosecutor, Vampire Idol, Blood, and Scholar Who Walks the Night, and now the first zombie K-drama is headed our way with screenwriter Kim Eun Hee … Continue reading →
What is sudden wave of mid-aughts J-ent nostalgia and can it please continue? Fresh off relieving all of Horikita Maki’s classic hit J-doramas after hearing that she was retiring from showbiz to be a homemaker (though it might just be for a few years and she could return), then learning that Maki’s two costars from Nobuta wo Produce in bromance … Continue reading →

As one of the coolest and most low key Korean stars, it’s rare for So Ji Sub to be holding wide spread fan meetings across Asia but that’s what’s coming in March as he celebrates his 20th anniversary since debut. So Ji Sub’s fan meeting will take him from Japan to Taiwan to Hong Kong and end in Seoul, but the latest … Continue reading →
A major selling point for the upcoming SBS remake of hit movie My Sassy Girl has got to be male lead Joo Won, in contrast to how the female lead Jeon Ji Hyun was the scene-stealer in the movie version. I adore comedic Oh Yeon Seo after her own drama scene-stealing turn in Please Come Back Ahjusshi but My Sassy … Continue reading →

Just the news that Ji Chang Wook is doing a drama that is described as a full on rom-com makes me … Continue reading →
Now this is one tightly edited and intensely compelling preview for a K-drama. Well done, Whisper, now let’s make sure the final product is as dark and thrilling as this minute and a half preview portends. Ji Sung is getting closer to exonerating himself and winning over the bad guys which means Whisper is getting ready to take the baton … Continue reading →
I can’t help but feel the first sweet stirrings of young love memories whenever I see new updates from upcoming tvN drama The Liar and His Lover (She Fell in Love with His Lies). Joy and Lee Hyun Woo look the parts of a young high school ingenue and a young but musically experienced prodigy producer, but even nicer is … Continue reading →
