Epic may not be epic enough a word to describe the undertaking that went into creating the end result of next year’s biggest C-drama on deck Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace. It’s billed as a sequel of sorts to the biggest C-drama hit of the decade with Legend of Zhen Huan but that’s merely the production team and the … Continue reading →
Just two episodes into Legend of the Blue Sea and I’m in a state of satisfaction, like floating weightlessly in calm warm Caribbean waters. The drama is a visual delight with the narrative like a shuttlecock, flitting around without much anchoring emotion. I have the patience to see what web Park Ji Eun is weaving but those wanting more emotional … Continue reading →

For those planning fall or even winter weddings and are still looking for inspiration, especially the more adventurous ones, the fall issue of Cosmo Bride China is unleashing the twin … Continue reading →

After a few rounds of casting maybes from Namgong Min to Ji Sung, the titular Traitor Hong Gil Dong (or Rebel Hong Gil Dong) has found Yoon Kyun Sang as the famed Korean Robin Hood. SBS loves Yoon Kyun Sang and was grooming him with supporting roles in successive high profile dramas for the network but MBC clearly swooped in and … Continue reading →
Hul, this is going to be even more awesome that I expected if Goblin is tripling up on the bromance aspect. The production has dropped various combination of stills – Gong Yoo the lonely immortal Goblin, emo grim reaper Lee Dong Wook, the male leads with their respective OTP in Kim Go Eun and Yoo In Na, and now comes … Continue reading →
All eyes are on whether the new prime time K-drama ratings champion Legend of the Blue Sea will mark the fourth ratings winning drama of the year following Descendants of the Sun, Doctors, and Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. Four hit K-dramas in one year feels a bit like boom times after the dry spell in 2015, but nowhere near the heydays … Continue reading →
Talk about going to sleep and waking up to a plane crashing into your living room. The biggest news in South Korea the least three weeks has been the insane political scandal around President Park Geun Hye maybe being a puppet controlled by her cult leader confidante Choi Soon Shil. Citizens are rightfully incensed and scores of huge demonstrations have … Continue reading →
There’s an odd vibe I’m getting from upcoming MBC Mon-Tues drama Night Light which feels like the drama is about the two female leads and the male leads is the third wheel. The drama is billed as a power trip of sorts where the two female leads are striving to climb the wealth and power ladder and both get tangled … Continue reading →
It’s like taking candy from a baby. This past Wednesday night saw the premiere of three new prime time Wed-Thurs drama to change up the landscape. There was Legend of the Blue Sea on SBS, with KBS airing Oh My Geum Bi, and MBC offered up Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo. I was only interested in Legend of the Blue Sea … Continue reading →
Holiday season and the crisp cool weather of early winter is barreling towards us and that means warm clothing pictorials aplenty. First out of the gate is Song Joong Ki modeling for Doota Duty Free, in a series of turtleneck attire that only someone with his long neck can pull off. It’s still surreal to see how his star power … Continue reading →
Gosh, both sets of OTP in upcoming fantasy drama Goblin certainly are looking mighty cute together. Well, the main leads Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun are more professor and student cute, and I mean that not as a taboo teacher-student romance and more Rex Harrison professor in My Fair Lady with his pygmalion Eliza Doolittle. The 900 year old immortal … Continue reading →
I’m having a hard time imagining that the costume designers for upcoming KBS sageuk Hwarang all agreed that it was a great idea to buy the wigs used for the male leads. It was with that or everyone is blind on that team because I still can’t get over how collectively hideous the locks are. I mean, Park Hyung Sik … Continue reading →
