The production team of We Are In Love, the Chinese version of Korean variety show We Got Married, certainly has some casting clout. The first couple confirmed for the second season of the popular show are high profile popular Korean actress Song Ji Hyo with Taiwanese actor Bolin Chen. She’s an uber variety veteran thanks to Running Man while he’s … Continue reading →
For those who love Hwang Jung Eum this will be great casting news while those less disposed towards her brand of acting will likely continue to feel like she’s everywhere in K-drama land these days. Fresh off two successive buzzed about MBC dramas in She Was Pretty and Kill Me Heal Me, Hwang Jung Eum is getting married next month … Continue reading →
While the Mandarin speaking countries and Korea spent last week chattering about the Tzuyu snowballed political brouhaha, Japan was oddly absent from the fray because it had its own near national crisis to deal with. Thankfully it appears to be crisis averted, so let’s take a look back at what went down in the span of 7 days. Last week … Continue reading →
Looks like everyone can slowly go back to their regularly scheduled programming now after a whirlwind week of scandal on a fast-track scale. I think from when the allegations against Tzuyu of Korean girl group TWICE for being pro Taiwanese independence first broke, the whole cycle took around one week and was one of the most intense and widespread I’ve … Continue reading →
With Answer Me 1988 wrapped up this past weekend, there’s a bit of serendipitous timing in the leading man from the previous series tying the knot at the same time. Answer Me 1994‘s leading man Jung Woo married his girlfriend of two years K-actress Kim Yoo Mi, the two having met on the set of the movie Red Family. They … Continue reading →
This will be an interesting K-drama to check out because the lead casting is so random, and to see whether certain drama selection choices end up being a smart move or a fallacy. Kang Sora and Park Shin Yang are the surprising leads for upcoming KBS Mon-Tues drama Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul Ho. The drama is an adaptation of a same … Continue reading →
Holy cuteness alert! The first stills are here from the production of upcoming Korean Bu Bu Jing Xin and it’s courtesy of the supremely eye candy filled script reading session. Bobogyungsim: Ryeo (Bu Bu Jing Xin: Splendor) won’t air until the second half of the year (I’m guessing September 2016) after being fully pre-produced and having gotten SARFT approval so the … Continue reading →
I was hoping this debacle wouldn’t have grown as big as it now has and I wouldn’t have to write about it, because this whole thing is insane for how something so not wrong and inconsequential turned into a political affair. New JYP girl group TWICE member Tzuyu (Chou Tzu Yu) was forced to issue a videotaped apology where she emphasized … Continue reading →
What a great way to start off the new year for C-actress Tang Yan, landing the cover and pages of Bazaar China in the cutest and most vibrant photo spread I’ve ever seen from her. It’s pink and adorable with a slide of bubblegum sexy, sorta like her take on Katy Perry. I felt like her major breakout season in 2015 last … Continue reading →
Now that Answer Me 1988 has ended, I can finally marathon this baby and not get sucked into the usual shipping wars. I’ve participated in my fair share and honestly it’s exhausting, but hard to avoid when live watching a drama that’s popular and garners heavy audience involvement. One thing that everyone watching the drama seems to agree on is … Continue reading →
I suggest viewers of Marry Me or Not have a fan handy for this Sunday’s episode 12, because the latest video preview gives a glimpse into upcoming OTP sexy times that had me fanning myself on mere seconds of footage alone. Leads Alice Ke and Roy Qiu said in recent interviews that it was the most intense and revealing onscreen … Continue reading →
It’s still hard to fully believe that Descendants of the Sun is right around the corner, premiering in mid-February on KBS Wed-Thurs, taking over from The Merchant: Gaekju 2015. I’m still super excited even if the first teasers weren’t what I expected, at least nothing looked terrible or awkward right off the bat. Song Joong Ki remains the number one reason for my … Continue reading →
A good story makes the most out of its fictional conundrums, weaving intricate webs of conflict that leads to a cathartic payoff. The beauty and tragedy in Lost You Forever is that the conflict happens around characters that I love, and if I were to splice the three male leads together into one super character then that would be the … Continue reading →
