The production of upcoming Taiwan old school coming-of-age movie Our Times is certainly not stingy with spoilers. First came the peek at A-list actress Chen Qiao En as the grown up female lead in the movie, with the high school version played by rising actress Vivian Sung. Next was the reveal that Jerry Yan was the trump card as the … Continue reading →
I’ve been so busy the last few months, on top of a major computer meltdown whereby my beloved trusty PC up and died on me and took all my work with it, there was a moment of wanting to just quit blogging and return to the idyllic days of just watching. Ultimately I stuck with it because these fingers just want to … Continue reading →
Today is Kim Sae Ron‘s 15th birthday, which is an occasion perfect for doing a retrospective appreciation post of the fantastic pictorial she did for Marie Claire Korea back in March 2015. It was a scant four months ago but when a teenager is growing even weeks can make a difference in how much she’s transforming right before our eyes. … Continue reading →
This might be a potential awesome onscreen pairing waiting to happen, and even if it doesn’t come to fruition is still too cute not to share. Yoon Ah In has been promoting his new movie Veteran on the media circuit and in a recent segment of Entertainment Relay, he was told that Ji Chang Wook specifically named-checked Yoo Ah In … Continue reading →
The shit hits the fan big time in episode 8 of Scholar Who Walks the Night, finally letting the romance take the backseat as Yoon’s political plotting triggers major ramifications. Fortunately for our idealistic royal grandson, he avoids taking the fall for his own plot, but unfortunately for the people around him, there is plenty of fall to go around. … Continue reading →
KeyEast Entertainment remains best known for two things, having Hallyu superstar veteran Bae Yong Joon as the founder and president, and being the agency of current Hallyu superstar Kim Soo Hyun. The agency actually has a sizable stable of actors and actresses outside of the blanket star power of Kim Soo Hyun along, rising actors Park Seo Joon and Lee … Continue reading →
I already like what I’m seeing in the previews for upcoming SETTV Friday night drama, other than male lead Lego Lee’s orange hair updo style and wishing the drama could have a less generic English title. The network and it’s gazillion Love dramas, like Love Forward and Love, Now and Love Around for example, made even more frustrating when some don’t … Continue reading →
I’m not going to jump the gun and say Scholar Who Walks the Night got immensely better in this episode alone, but I personally vaulted over a few roadblocks that have been niggling at me for episodes on end now. That’s like winning a personal battle of sorts, and certainly makes recapping fun again rather than wading through the tedium … Continue reading →
I love a good bromance, even better if the two dudes are both faves of mine. That’s the case now with super best buddies Lee Jong Seok and Kim Woo Bin, the two meeting on the set of School 2013 and not being shy with showing their affection for each other. Even the slightest sliver of shipper-dom for these two … Continue reading →
Leave it to the Korean Tourism Bureau to make lemonade out of lemons. The country was saddled with a major tourism blemish two months ago when a sudden outbreak of the contagious disease MERS unexpectedly hit. The outbreak was contained and this week the nation’s heath authorities officially declared the MERS crisis over, and what better way to open the doors … Continue reading →
It appears the drama adaptation of webtoon Will You Have Dinner with Me (Let’s Have Dinner Together) is completely dead in the water, first losing the time slot at SBS to upcoming drama Yongpal, and later losing leading lady Shin Mina to rival network KBS with the drama Oh My God costarring So Ji Sub. The drama to follow Yongpal … Continue reading →
The Chinese box office has been way more fun to follow the last two weeks as all eyes have been on the Chinese language period fantasy movie Monster Hunt. What was anticipated to be a cute family film with solid but unspectacular appeal has turned into the biggest box office smash in China. In just ten days in the theater, … Continue reading →
I like everything so far about upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama Yongpal (Yongpalyi), other than leading man Joo Won. But I don’t hate him, plus his styling in this drama is the best I’ve seen from him, so perhaps his turn as the rogue doctor channeling Healer is just the performance to flip the switch for me. The drama continues with … Continue reading →
