A round of applause please, as the production of upcoming SBS weekend drama The Time I Loved You, 7000 Days just went from imminent disaster to unbelievably farcical. I’m sure stuff like this happens behind the scenes in drama productions on a regular basis, but to see it play out in public with news updates is another thing. A week … Continue reading →
While there have been conflicting reports on which drama comes after Mask on SBS Wed-Thurs, it’s once again looking more and more like medical drama Yongpalyi over rom-com Will You Have Dinner with Me. Judging by casting news alone, Yongpalyi takes the lead today with word that the production is courting Kim Tae Hee and Joo Won for the lead … Continue reading →
Han Groo has had her name associated with a number of K-drama castings already this year, from Scholar Who Walks the Night to High Society to Answer Me 1988, but she still doesn’t have a drama comeback lined up as those all fell through for whatever reason. She could have avoided the bullet if all those dramas turn out to be … Continue reading →
I would take one Jeon Ji Hyun over a hundred wannabe actresses any day. She’s old school glitz and glamour, talent and charisma, the collective bundle of everything dazzling onscreen. The screen goddess that is Ms. Jeon was in Cannes this past weekend walking the red carpet during the Classics screening alongside the president of fashion house Gucci. She is … Continue reading →
Another drama has come to a close and this conclusion brings a mixed bag of opinions forming one general takeaway. All in all, I really liked The Girl Who Sees Smells, half-developed plot lines and spotty police investigating and all that lackluster detailing. If I close my eyes and think of the drama, all it does is bring a soft … Continue reading →
Don’t quote me on this still in the discussion phase only potential drama schedule and casting, but it’s way too juicy not to share and discuss even on the possibility alone. October is resembling D-day attack strategy for the big three networks when it comes to scheduling K-dramas, especially in the coveted Wed-Thurs slot. KBS has long ago reserved that month … Continue reading →
I’m getting way too excited about High Society based on all the teaser material, when experience reminds me that good promos do not guarantee good drama and dull teasers similarly doesn’t mean a drama is dead on arrival. With that said, I just want to soak up the teaser excitement for a little while longer, I really love the way … Continue reading →
The eagle-eyed netizens have struck again, this time not doing reconnaisance to catch K-stars secretly dating but instead ferreting out a secret casting. Cutie pie and super talented young actor Lee Hyun Woo was spotted at the script reading for upcoming fantasy sageuk Scholar Who Walks the Night. I posted about that script reading and the picture that Lee Hyun … Continue reading →
This was a funny penultimate episode of The Girl Who Sees Smells, continuing the tried and true formula of policing like a third grader coupled with sweet and sincere character interactions. It’s worked so far for me, and while the ratings for the drama overall have been nothing impressive at the very least it doubled its predecessor. Headed into the … Continue reading →
This is most excellent casting news, especially on the suitability factor alone to the role in question. Park Hae Jin will be making his drama land return in 2015 with the webtoon adaptation of Cheese in the Trap. This casting isn’t a surprise since his name has been attached to this project since the beginning, but he was also courted … Continue reading →
I gotta give props when it’s due and Masked Prosecutor deserves kudos for doing the unthinkable from one week ago, namely making that flamboyant wrestling mask suddenly look narratively acceptable. Who woulda thunk it? The drama premieres on KBS this Wednesday night, with an eye towards keeping the ratings crown from predecessor Unkind Women using a combination of mature charm … Continue reading →
If there are Yoochun fans with a long memory, they might still remember the contentious commentary I had on his drama Missing You during its airing and how much I hated his character. I still hate that one-track minded doofus Han Jung Woo but it was never an opinion that extended to Yoochun as an actor. I liked him a lot in Rooftop Prince … Continue reading →
It feels weird not having a Lee Jong Seok drama on the horizon now that it’s been five months since he wrapped his last drama Pinocchio. That’s a high note as any to take a rest but the oddity comes from him working on a new drama every six months or so since early 2013. He did School 2013 followed by … Continue reading →
