Oooooh, these previews are actually pretty good and revives my flagging interest in My Secret Hotel. That’s fantastic given there are just two more episodes left and I need to recap the sucker, better end with a bang (literal or figurative, we’ll know next week) than with a whimper. Besides the real murderer(s) being revealed, Sang Hyo better pick a … Continue reading →
I’m not going to fault Lee Min Ho for doing this since there is clearly an audience for whatever he’s selling. Lee Min Ho is spending October and November on a series of Asian fan meetings with all of October devoted to hitting up four of China’s biggest cities. He’s calling it the Re: Minho Tour, but I think it’s … Continue reading →
Shin Ha Kyun and Jang Nara? Well this is a very interesting onscreen coupling indeed. Ladies and gents, we have our Mr. Baek, and future Mrs. Baek I presume. I was starting to get really really worried about the casting confirmations for MBC‘s upcoming Wed-Thurs drama Mr. Baek, a drama that is following the currently airing My Spring Days which … Continue reading →
HOLY SHIT. I’m seriously speechless right now. What the heck is really is going on at K-pop powerhouse agency SM Entertainment? I mean this less in a rubber necking way and more concerned about whether the company is having a mini-meltdown as I type. That would be awful for the remaining entertainers there trying to keep their head down and just … Continue reading →
It’s a welcome change to follow along with a K-drama that doesn’t progressively get worse like so many out there lately. My Lovely Girl is still nothing to write odes about but it’s done a hard enough feat of getting better and better with each episode. The story, however shallow and awkward in places, continues to come together comfortably. It makes the … Continue reading →
When watching the K-drama Prime Minister and I, when Yoona‘s character was still a entertainment tabloid reporter, she would lurk in dark places where the celebs were hanging out to snap surreptitious pictures and have funny encounters. The reporters at Dispatch might hate that glamorization of their jobs which in reality involves squatting in the dark for hours waiting for the … Continue reading →
I made a joke after the most recent entertainment awards ceremony in Korea after Kim Soo Hyun walked away with yet another win. It’s starting to feel like awards exist solely to have an excuse to award something to Kim Soo Hyun, which may or may not be deserving (everyone can argue over that), but is now starting to reach … Continue reading →
This is a fun little dating rumor to come out of drama land, of which we have to all admit has been royally lackluster lately in terms of quality or buzz. An insider on the MBC set of the fantasy sageuk Records of a Night Watchman has tipped off the press that a budding couple has emerged from filming together. … Continue reading →
As My Lovely Girl unfolds like a relaxed cat stretching into the middle part of it’s narrative, the rather unimaginative drama title is starting to feel more and more fitting. Se Na really is quite adorable and lovely, a bit of the no longer a girl but not yet a woman awkwardness about her. Her personality may not have been very … Continue reading →
When there are two famous in their own right leads cast together in a drama. the natural inclination is to want to see what they look like together. As if the visual scrutiny might shed light on what’s to come, or at least give everyone something to talk about until the actual drama drops. Pinocchio is still weeks away from … Continue reading →
I like to be a completest if I’m covering a K-ent case and this latest one come came and went like a whirling dervish. Even before the dust settled on the shocking defamation lawsuit that led to the revelation that Cha Seung Won‘s eldest son Cha No Ah was not his by birth, the whole thing is over with the … Continue reading →
There is finally some straight up good news about My Secret Hotel. Episode 14 was the best episode so far since the fantastic starting episodes, finally getting around to revealing important feelings and facts. Sadly this also confirms that the entire middle section of the drama can be erased and the audience wouldn’t be missing out on anything. Anyone notice … Continue reading →
Another screen goddess is off the single ladies market and this upcoming engagement is garnering congratulations all around. TW-actress Ariel Lin has confirmed that she’s getting officially engaged to her long-time non-celeb boyfriend Charles Lin on October 29th in Taipei. The invitations have gone out in traditional Chinese red with gold embossed tracing and lettering, and with it legions of … Continue reading →
