I can’t believe the year end drama awards are right around the corner, I’m still enjoying the final offerings of this year rather than in previous years when I couldn’t wait for the next year dramas to arrive. Each network holds their own drama awards show with slightly different tweaks. SBS released its list of Best Couple nominees this weekend, giving a glimpse at what the network considers good chemistry. It’s basically the leads of SBS dramas that did well in ratings or critical reception – Lee Min Ho and Jeon Ji Hyun in Legend of the Blue Sea, two couples from Incarnation of Jealousy in Jo Jung Seok–Gong Hyo Jin and the ladies Lee Mi Sook–Park Ji Young, Namgong Min and Mina for Beautiful Gong Shim, two sets of doctors in Park Shin Hye–Kim Rae Won for Doctors and Seo Hyun Jin–Yoo Yeon Seok in Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim, Song Jae Rim and Kim So Eun in weekend drama Our Gabsoon, and last but not least bromance with Jang Geun Seok and Yoo Jin Gu in Jackpot (Daebak). The second week of new Mon-Tues dramas have made this time slot more interesting ratings wise than the slaughterhouse of Wed-Thurs. First week leader Jackpot (The Royal Gambler or Daebak) on SBS decreased a tiny bit to 11.6% AGB nationwide, … Continue reading
The ratings are for the new batch of Mon-Tues K-dramas and the playing field looks a lot different than the bloodbath going on in the Wed-Thurs slot. Mon-Tues doesn’t have a runaway winner (yet), with the race tight out of … Continue reading
If I were a betting man I would abstain from picking the winner of the upcoming Mon-Tues K-drama ratings battle. There are too many variables in the air and none of three contenders have a sure fire hook going for … Continue reading

I firmly still believe that Jang Geun Seok still has what it takes, acting ability and hardworking desire, to advance his career as a serious young actor. It’s true that he’s not don’t anything substance in that pursuit for the last … Continue reading
I hope SBS drama Jackpot (Daebak) can continue the success of Six Flying Dragons but it’s not a sure bet since Jackpot will be up against contrasting competition with long drama Monster and legal drama Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul Ho. … Continue reading
Even though the two male leads of SBS sageuk drama Jackpot (Daebak) are exactly 10 years apart, with Jang Geun Seok born in 1987 and Yeo Jin Gu in 1997, I have a good feeling the age gap won’t be … Continue reading
More daebak teasers from upcoming SBS Mon-Tues drama Jackpot and the intense eye stares has certainly shot through the roof. The production unveiled new drama stills of the veteran actors Choi Min Soo and Jeon Kwang Ryul, in a reunion … Continue reading
The drama hasn’t even aired yet and already the bromance has brewed offscreen. That’s good since the two male leads will be direct antagonists in upcoming SBS sageuk Jackpot, better like each other during filming and then ratchet up the … Continue reading
SBS pull back a bit of the curtain today to offer a glimpse at upcoming Mon-Tues sageuk drama Jackpot (Daebak), which signals that long running Six Flying Dragons is ending soon as well as the coming return of Jang Geun Seok … Continue reading
It was a mere hop skip from casting to production for upcoming SBS Mon-Tues drama Daebak (Jackpot). The drama premieres at the end of March on the 28th so with less than two months to go it’s a good sign … Continue reading
