Following behind the nominations for the Korean Drama Awards come the nominations for the 2018 APAN Star Awards which is on its 6th year now. It’s skewed towards the popular more than elite selection metrics but as always an interesting take on what dramas and actors/actresses are getting recognition in a drama year. The notable names up for the Daesang top price are familiar faces to getting awards: Lee Byung Hun for Mr. Sunshine, Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food‘s Son Ye Jin, Kim Nam Joo as Misty, Jo Seung Woo in Life, and my fave choice in Lee Seon Kyun who turned in a career performance (among his many) in My Ahjusshi. The cast from those dramas also pepper the other acting categories, and other dramas/cast getting nods include both sets of leads Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young in Why Secretary Kim and While You Were Sleeping with Lee Jong Seok and Suzy.
