Daaaaaang, this is too powerful to be girl power, it more aptly qualifies as queen power. The new year has a new ad campaign featuring veteran A-list actress Kim Hye Soo and likely soon to be A-list actress Han So Hee in a pairing across generations but sharing the same so cool, so badass vibe. It’s just a CF and … Continue reading →
With streaming platforms getting into the production/funding business, it hasn’t only been for K-dramas. It’s also produced streaming only K-movies and that may add to the bread and depth of less big budget movies geared towards romance but in a tighter 2-plus hour format than a full drama length story. Park Hyung Sik and Han So Hee will be paired … Continue reading →
It’s only the third week of airing for jTBC Fri-Sat period romance and spy drama Snowdrop but goodness it feels like a lifetime’s worth of controversy and news ink spilled on said controversy. There was even a lawsuit and an injunction ruling all in the span of one week! I haven’t heard anymore complaints from K-netizens domestically this week but … Continue reading →
First off, I hate this new English title for the jTBC drama Office Romance Cruelty. I didn’t like the Korean title either but Weather People is way worse, I’m half expecting the characters to have weather related superpowers or turn into a weather horror drama ala Cat People and Lizard People. But Weather People it is but despite the whole … Continue reading →
Cable network jTBC has been besieged by bad publicity for the past month but there are still more dramas in the pipeline that I’m ready to welcome if not just to stop pounding the same complaints into the ground. In February 2022 there will be female-centric drama Thirty Nine with Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Ji Hyun … Continue reading →
There is truly sad news to report from K-ent to start off the new year 2022. Young rising actress Kim Mi Soo has been confirmed to have passed away this week at the age of 31 years old (32 in Korean age). She is currently in the jTBC drama Snowdrop playing one of the student in the dorm in a … Continue reading →
This week drama viewers were surprised with a reunion of a popular OTP from last year, namely Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si from the period romance drama Youth of May. That was actually their second time working together as in December 2020 they did horror fantasy thriller Sweet Home together, but they played siblings in there. Now they … Continue reading →
This was one post-drama interview that felt intimate, meaningful, and adds additional depth to the drama. The screenwriter of The Red Sleeve Cuff, who also wrote Ruler: Master of the Mask and Gyebaek, shared her thoughts and insights on this production this week after the drama finished airing. She was approached to do it three years ago by MBC but … Continue reading →
New year means a new Lee Jun Ki drama to look forward to, so yayayay! He’s coming back sometime in the first half of 2022 with the SBS drama Again My Life, which has been filming for some months now but the official promos haven’t started yet. All we’ve seen are BTS pics and some posted by Lee Jun Ki … Continue reading →
The third of the red in the name sageuks Red Single Heart is coming in the first half of 2022 on KBS, following Lovers of the Red Sky on SBS and The Red Sleeve Cuff on MBC. I’m sure it’ll get a different English title but the drama will star Jang Hyuk, Lee Joon, and Kang Nan Na in a … Continue reading →
The bells will be tolling soon and maybe doves will also fly lol, just teasing, I mean the wedding date is coming soon for engaged star couple Park Shin Hye and Choi Tae Joon. This week their wedding invitation was posted online and since it’s friends and family only invite I wonder which friend and family will be sussed out … Continue reading →
At this point I wonder if jTBC is just trying to troll the K-netizens, otherwise why keep doing bizarre stunts around its controversy laden period drama Snowdrop. This Monday in South Korea, President Moon Jae In delivered the annual President’s New Year’s speech to the public and every single television channel cut into programming to live broadcast it. Every channel … Continue reading →
Half of me wants this to never happen because nothing can be as good as the book, and half of me has been waiting for it to happen for so long I just want it to actually happen even if it sucks. C-ent is reporting that the long planned drama adaptation of fantasy romance C-novel Lost You Forever (Chang Xiang … Continue reading →
