Flower of Evil Rocking and Rolling with Secrets and Sleuthing in Episodes 7-8 as Ratings Stay Higher at 3.526% and 3.863%

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

There is no mid-week hump for me, at least not while Flower of Evil is airing in the tvN Wed-Thurs time slot. This drama is the best type of modernized melodrama crack, the classic tropes redefined and elevated to sleek modern mores. The stakes are high for EVERYONE which is why the tense terseness works, we know characters are invested … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I feel like this new COVID-19 outbreak in South Korea could have 100% been prevented as the country did such a good job in February-April in containing the first wave. Alas the relaxation of restrictions and the crazies pushing for normalcy have come to roost as the nation is hitting new daily highs in infections. A few K-dramas, some currently … Continue reading →

Cable network jTBC hit a grand slam home run this year with The World of the Marriage but the magic didn’t continue with successor drama Graceful Friends. A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This is a really odd turn of events and since I covered K-actor Kang Ji Hwan‘s allegations and later conviction for sexual assault last year it’s only fitting to write about new information in the case. Last year in 2019 Kang Ji Hwan was accused by two women of sexual assault, alleging he got drunk and molested and locked them … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Lee Jun Ki fans all have their “moment” story, and there is quite a diverse array of his K-dramas which have hooked a casual viewer into a convert. Mine is of course the still perfect and very re-watchable Time Between Dog and Wolf, one of his first K-dramas though I watched it a few years after it came out. It’s … Continue reading →

The official poster for jTBC drama 18 Again elicits so many thoughts from me, the main one being WHERE THE HECK is Yoon Sang Hyun’s hand trying to grab?!? Did the photoshopper not realize that he’s literally going from Kim Ha Neul‘s crotch area ahahaha. Then I fell into envy that Kim Ha Neul is so gorgeous and lithe that … Continue reading →

Kim Hee Sun and Joo Won Travel Through Time in Sci-fi Fri-Sat SBS K-drama Alice

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This is the year of time-travel and/or parallel universes, it has been done before in K-dramas but seems lumped together this year with Train, 365: Repeat the Year, The King: Eternal Monarch, and now Alice. This past weekend felt a little empty because the normally bustling with viewer commentary SBS Fri-Sat time slot was empty after Backstreet Rookie ended the … Continue reading →
