It’s been 15 years since two very young K-actors was first starting out in their acting careers when they had a chance to work together and now they get a chance to reunite on the big screen. Gong Hyo Jin and Kim Rae Won are cast as the leads in romance movie The Most Ordinary Romance which is just described … Continue reading →
There is still three months left in 2018 and plenty can change in the drama ratings ranks but so far the tally remains comparatively low ratings for network dramas while cable continues to impress with how strong it is airing on paid channels. Currently the highest rated network prime time drama is SBS scandal-plagued police crime drama Return which switched leading … Continue reading →
I remember being bemused when I heard of certain stars who insist on being photographed or filmed from their “good side”. Doesn’t both sides look the same? Apparently not to those who are keen on their appearances so it’s always a bonus point I give now when I see stars who do pictorials from all angles, such as this latest … Continue reading →
The teasers are here for November 2018 tvN fantasy romance drama Memories of Alhambra and my first impression is that it’s totally got the exact vibe as Goblin. The location shoot European architectural visuals, with Spain for Alhambra and Quebec City for Goblin, and the leads meeting on a hilltop vista with the backdrop of the old city beyond them. … Continue reading →
The tears in a melodrama can at times feel forced, or at least contrived due to a wholly unrealistic set of circumstances that all aggregate together to manufacture a tragedy. That’s the narrative premise behind upcoming tvN drama Hundred Million Stars Falling From the Sky (The Smile Has Left Your Eyes) and yet the tears if forthcoming will likely not … Continue reading →
The transformation of Lee Seung Gi continues, now in increments in his 30s rather than leaps when he was in his 20s. As a long time fan I’m still impressed at his sincere hardworking intensity, he’s really earnest about his entertainer role without coming across as too thirsty or desperate. He’s also looking mighty fine in the fall 2018 issue … Continue reading →
It’s been over a month since Park Min Young finished rom-com drama Why Secretary Kim but I have a feeling this role will stay attached to her for a long time. I thought she was the heart and soul of that drama and male lead Park Seo Joon the arm candy whereas many of her previous dramas had the male … Continue reading →
I’ve been holding off on covering upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama Terius Behind Me because after all the leading lady changes it felt like the drama was just male lead So Ji Sub and a bunch of relative randos without much to write about. Both Lee Yoo Young and Yoo In Na passed on this drama before the leading lady role … Continue reading →
The conclusion of tvN time-travel and do-over drama Knowing Wife (Familiar Wife) frees up on Wed-Thurs again after being fairly addicted for the past eight weeks. I tried to watch on the days it aired but wasn’t so engrossed that I couldn’t miss a few same day airings and catch up on the weekends. It was much better than I … Continue reading →
With the conclusion of jTBC medical drama Life, the channel switches moods and gears to the colorful and playful with the K-drama remake of form-changing story The Beauty Inside. The drama reverses the movie set up with the male lead changing forms every day, this version has the female lead changing forms but only once a month and it lasts … Continue reading →
The march to fall 2018 continues as yet another brand house holds an event, this one is is Spanish designer brand Delpozo that I’m not that familiar with but seeing the outfits like very much. Actresses Lee Yo Won and Han Go Eun were in attendance along with idol-actress Son Na Eun from Apink who had the best look of … Continue reading →
This past Mon-Tues concluded the airing of SBS drama Thirty But Seventeen, one of the rare ones for me where I thoroughly enjoyed the drama despite having no inclination to watch because of the two leads. I’m still not sold on male lead Yang Se Jong overall but liked his role and performance for this drama, whereas Shin Hye Sun … Continue reading →
The broader consensus on K-drama Goblin was that the second lead couple was way more romantically gripping than the first leads as a couple, and now the second leads are coming back elevated to headline their own K-drama. Yoo In Na and Lee Dong Wook have been offered the leads and are as much confirmed per media reports for upcoming … Continue reading →
