Two years, 2144 posts, and over 20 million views later, the Playground celebrates its second anniversary today by doing nothing whatsoever. In the US, a second anniversary is marked by cotton, so I’m going to whip out my comfy t-shirt and wrap my laptop in it for the night. I have to confess there are times I want to stop writing … Continue reading →
Ella had her real life version of We Got Married this past weekend in Taipei to her Malaysian-Chinese fiancée Alvin Lai. It was a star-studded lavish affair that officially takes Ella off the market, leaving Hebe Tian as the only S.H.E. member still single. Get on it, Hebe! I love how the three girls are genuinely good friends who entered … Continue reading →
I love weddings. Less for the drunken toasts and the ring bearers who won’t walk down the aisle, but more for the pretty dresses and all around chance to dress up. Ella is getting married on May 5th to her Malaysian-Chinese boyfriend, but they’ve spent the last two months on pre-wedding related fun times. They took their official wedding pictures … Continue reading →
I’m don’t watch variety shows, probably because I already bend time and space enough as it is. Anymore and I’ll be tempting the drama fates to smite me. But I totally got interested this week in checking out April 10th’s episode of the K-talk show Strong Heart, which was formerly hosted by Kang Ho Dong and Lee Seung Gi, but … Continue reading →
Hot dang it, China, why are you so ridiculously good to the fangirl in me. I’m bopping around the interwebz minding my own business scrounging for Da Mo Yao drama stuff when BAM!, all the C-entertainment portals lit up simultaneously. As if to out do her good friend Yang Mi (who only recently confirmed her real life romance with her drama … Continue reading →
Smoldery leading man Go Soo is officially off the singles market, not that any of us mere mortals ever had a chance with him. The wedding was closed to the media, which is not unusual since the bride is not in the entertainment industry. Go Soo came out to speak to the reporters before the ceremony, and the rest of … Continue reading →
Being so busy these days was a good thing, since it kept me from chafing at the bit for Lee Jun Ki to get released from the army. And before I knew it, he was back! Jun Ki completed his army service yesterday and was happily and honorably discharged. Fans and the media swarmed the army base to capture his … Continue reading →
The short list of Taiwanese male stars just decreased by one, at least for the next twelve months. Trailed by the hordes of paparazzi, Ethan Ruan was whisked off to Cheng Gong Ling (成功嶺 Success Peak), the training camp near Taichung where all mandatory service members start their training. The tabloids groused about Ethan’s private car being allowed through the … Continue reading →
Everyone around me has been bugging me to write this post, and of course I dragged my feet until the last possible moment. Part of me feels like I’m pulling a Brett Favre (I’m retiring, oh wait, I’m back, nope, retiring for good, just a moment I’ll play one more year…..), but it’s the sad reality that I simply cannot … Continue reading →
The Min-Min couple has apparently broken up, so says one-half of the cute pair. Park Min Young‘s agency just confirmed that the couple broke up last year after dating for not that long, but was hesitant to reveal it due to concerns about public reaction. I dunno, I figure fans on both sides would be thrilled, through the shortness of … Continue reading →
You know a drama has been filming for quite a long time if both leads manage to celebrate their birthday on the set. Office Girls has been filming for over half a year now, and first Roy Qiu celebrated turning 30, now he’s followed by his leading lady Alice Ke celebrating turning 27. I can’t image a better way to … Continue reading →
I went to see a musical today, which reminded me that I haven’t gotten around to posting an update on the recently discharged from the military Joo Ji Hoon. Originally there was talk last September that he was doing a drama when he returned (the SBS sageuk Dapyungsu, which is currently in the hands of my Lee Jun Ki and … Continue reading →

Both of them were gratified to have a chance to visit with the children they sponsor and spend time learning about the beautiful culture … Continue reading →
