I loved Kill Me Heal Me to pieces so this news has me bracing for the worst even as I’m deathly curious about the outcome. KMHM was one of the buzziest K-dramas of 2015, ratings middling like all the dramas these days but generating tons of buzz and trends along with awards nominations. The drama aired on MBC but was … Continue reading →
The steady cross-over of Korean actors and actresses into Chinese acting projects, whether dramas or movies, continues unabated and might now even include certain folks audiences might be happy to see migrate to China. Filming is starting on a new Korean-Chinese joint production web drama called Great One-sided Love (高品格單戀), produced by an experienced Korean PD while Chinese web portal … Continue reading →
Considered me optimistic after being wowed by the just released official theme song MV for the upcoming Time to Love, better known as Bu Bu Jing Xin the Movie. The movie is being marketed for the intense love triangle romance rather than the throne battle, with it scheduled for release on August 7th just in time for Chinese Valentine’s Day … Continue reading →
It’s been awhile since C-actress Liu Shi Shi had an upcoming acting project I’m actually interested in. That’s not a problem, I’m not the type of viewer or fan that forces myself to like whatever my faves are working on, and I find that a very healthy mentality to keep the opinions as objective as possible. Shi Shi has been … Continue reading →
I’ve seen so many disappointing C-dramas to expect much from upcoming period drama Braveness of the Ming. I’m only following along with the filming since it’s K-actress Park Min Young‘s first C-drama and she looks so unexpectedly fantastic in this role it keeps me curious to see more. All I’ve seen are official and BTS stills of Park Min Young … Continue reading →
This news took me completely off guard, not because it’s so improbable but because the timing feels so Johnny come lately. News broke today that famed SBS veteran PD Kim Kyu Tae, whose most recently directed dramas were It’s Okay, It’s Love and That Winter, the Wind Blows, has secured the rights to and is prepping the K-adaptation of the wildly … Continue reading →
Not often does an upcoming drama stroll along that I actually want to watch because it looks terrible. The glossy C-drama Destined to Love You totally fits that bill because I’m curious if the actual drama will turn out to be as unintentionally hilarious as the previews suggests. Starring Chen Qiao En, Jia Nai Liang, Bosco Wong, and Zheng Shuang, … Continue reading →
When Office Girls wrapped up its 2011-2012 insanely popular run on SETTV, I was ready to let the drama go thinking that there will be plenty of other opportunities to watch leads Roy Qiu and Alice Ke in future great projects. Boy was I wrong as neither has done anything in the four years since that have remotely touched the … Continue reading →
Upcoming TW-drama Marry Me, or Not is definitely one of my most anticipated dramas of the year, even if it won’t arrive until close to the end of 2015. I have the patience to wait for quality fare and this drama just wrapped filming and will head into a length post-production to add some pizzaz on the whole package. Leads … Continue reading →
There’s a new C-drama to check out this month, the production values look decent despite the drama being a web only affair aired on Chinese web portal iQiyi. The small screen adaptation of popular tomb raiding C-novel The Lost Tomb (盗墓笔记 The Grave Robber’s Chronicle) finally arrives, much to the excitement or dismay of the legions of loyal fans of … Continue reading →
Color me genuinely impressed with the early results from K-actress Park Min Young‘s foray into Chinese dramas. While idol-actress Suzy was reportedly the production’s first choice as leading lady, ultimately I think it worked out wonderfully all around for Park Min Young to accept period C-drama Braveness of the Ming. Acting opposite Hans Zhang, who is no stranger to working … Continue reading →
Upcoming SETTV Sunday night drama When I See You Again shockingly looks better than even my lowest of low expectations anticipated. Thanks to casting charisma such Mandy Wei as the female lead, even having dimpled cutie Liu Yi Hao as the male lead couldn’t get my hopes up very high. Which is why I’m the first to ready a potential … Continue reading →
I’m tempted to ask for a re-do on the upcoming period C-drama God of War Zhao Zhi Long, or at least a re-do on Yoona‘s portion only so that she can get her drama look transformed into something suitable to highlight her lanky modern beauty. It’s distressing that the production turned her into a washed out servant girl look, a … Continue reading →
