It’s finally here, confirmation as to the end of In A Good Way. The wonderful breezy Friday night TW-drama is ending in the end of April or beginning of May and will be following by yet another SETTV stock idol drama that I will probably end up watching anyway. Yeah, I’m predictable and easy like that. It doesn’t hurt that … Continue reading →
It’s your choice whether you want to click on this post and be totally spoiled, but please don’t comment in future In a Good Way posts with information gleaned from here and thereby spoil the ending for those who don’t want to know beforehand. The tentative episode count for IAGW now that it’s nearing the end and SETTV has a … Continue reading →
Apparently the last SETTV Sunday night drama Deja Vu ended this past weekend, and I say apparently because all I heard were viewers railing at the ending nonsense but I didn’t watch it myself. Or maybe folks are pissed at the process, or like me, pissed that this entire dreck of a drama even existed in the first place so … Continue reading →
Despite being in the thick of live filming for their popular SETTV drama In a Good Way, drama leads Kirsten Jen and Lego Lee jetted off to Hong Kong for a few days this week to attend the Hong Kong International Film Festival, which doesn’t showcase just movies but also television programs. Taiwan dramas have always has a solid footing … Continue reading →
Am I being too snarky if I say that Aaron Yan pairing up with Tia Li for the upcoming SETTV Sunday night idol drama Fall in Love with Me feels like Barbie meeting Ken? It can’t be denied that both are ridiculously pretty in a manga character way, and a wee bit plasticky onscreen when emoting is called for and … Continue reading →
SBS has already locked down its first Summer drama in It’s Okay, It’s Love with Gong Hyo Jin and Jo In Sung but MBC isn’t that far behind with the first news reports are out that the rumored remake of the popular Taiwan drama Fated to Love You will be getting a prime Wed-Thurs slot on MBC this Summer. It’s Okay, … Continue reading →
I’m not trying to be coy whenever people ask me when Bu Bu Jing Qing will air since the darn thing hasn’t been able to confirm a premiere date until now. This modern C-drama is the cinematic sequel to the blockbuster period drama Bu Bu Jing Xin (based on the same name Tong Hua novel), which feels like another lifetime ago … Continue reading →
The Sunday Taiwan drama dead air slump has been going on for almost a year now, with the last drama in the timeslot that I loved and watched the whole way through being King Flower (Substitute Princess) almost a year ago. Since then it hasn’t just been SETTV, none of the offerings in any of the networks in that timeslot … Continue reading →
I don’t quite know what to expect from the upcoming Director Winnie helmed TW-drama You Light Up My Star starring Janine Chang and Joe Cheng. It’s set in the acting industry and the male lead apparently suffers from depression. It sounds rather serious except all the media accounts of the filming has been nothing short of a laugh a minute. … Continue reading →
I’m being uber tentative with the upcoming SETTV tentpole Sunday night idol drama Fall in Love with Me (literal translation of the Chinese title would be Fall in Love with Two of Me). The network has dramas that work for me unexpectedly, while others more highly touted end up being total fails. Aaron Yan wouldn’t have landed his first headlining … Continue reading →
There are some TW and C-dramas that are pre-filmed and then sit on the shelf for what feels like an eternity. Sometimes it has nothing to do with quality but more like shopping around for a network to air it. I remember one of my fave TW-dramas Sunny Happiness completing filming over a year before it aired. Last year Mike … Continue reading →
The upcoming TW-drama You Light Up My Star is starting to look to more and more interesting, and I’m not just talking about the all-star team of Director Winnie (In Time With You, It Started With a Kiss) directing the reunion of Joe Cheng and Janine Chang from their Honey and Clover days. You Light Up My Star has been … Continue reading →
Following along with the filming of the latest drama adaptation of the wuxia novel Return of the Condor Heroes has been an endless well of WTF mirth. First producer Yu Zheng casts the least suitable leading lady Xiaolongnu in of all time by selecting Michelle Chen. Then he proceeds to photo shop half of her off in official drama stills … Continue reading →
