Janine Chang is currently headed to Shanghai to join Mike He, Ming Dao, and Annie Chen to film their guest-starring role in the grand opening scene for the upcoming Happy Three Stars, the third and final drama in the Happy trilogy which stars Blue Lan and Cheryl Yang. It’s a quick trip because Janine just started filming Please Ring Twice … Continue reading →
It’s official: Material Queen is the TW-drama equivalent of Firefly. No wonder I am so taken with this drama, and so damn appreciative and protective of it. Almost a decade later and I’m still stinging with the pain of what Fox did to the crew of the Serenity, allowing one of the best shows EVER on network television to get … Continue reading →
Man, I’m so happy I am bouncing off walls. News broke today that Vic Zhou (Zai Zai) is potentially coming back to TW-dramas! Hallelujah, drama gods, I ask and ye delivers. Famed doctor-and-writer Hou Wen Yong, whose amazingly introspective novellas, short stories, and medical musings I read starting in my teens, is getting ready for the drama adaptation of his … Continue reading →
There is a time and place for everything, and this adage is especially true of dramas. Even the best dramas can fail to connect with a viewer if watched at an inopportune time, when the mind or the heart isn’t in it for whatever reason. Hunan Television’s decision to air the long-completed Sunshine Angel starring Wu Zun and Rainie Yang … Continue reading →
Skip Beat (Extravagant Challange) is nearing the end of its filming, and this week Donghae wrapped all his scenes and tearfully bid farewell to Taiwan. He was given flowers by the crew and he started crying because it was such an overwhelming experience for him. He promised to join the cast and crew in Bali to celebrate when the drama … Continue reading →
The news broke last week that Sunshine Angel with Wu Zun and Rainie Yang would be airing in July, but I had no clue it would be airing starting July 6th. Which is next week! Boy those C-television stations move fast. Three more trailers have dropped, and I have officially verified in my mind that this is indeed a remake … Continue reading →
I was totally not expecting this drama to move this fast into production when I posted a few weeks ago that Janine Chang and Peter Ho have been tapped as the leads of the upcoming TW-drama Xiao Xian’s Beautiful Life (see post here). Today came the official confirmation that the drama starts filming in two days, and the title and … Continue reading →
YES! Super duper yes! I don’t care of this drama sucks donkey, I simply want to watch it. The long-completed Sunshine Angel starring Wu Zun (in what is likely his last drama performance) and Rainie Yang (see her with her trademark long locks prior to cutting it for Drunken to Love You) is finally getting an airtime. It’s airing next … Continue reading →
This has been an insane weekend for me. I started off Friday night going to the U2 concert and I’m still partially deaf 48 hours later. Then real life got sorta upended for the next two weeks with some unforeseen complications, so suddenly I’m busier than I normally am. I’m starting to feel an out-of-body experience where I am watching … Continue reading →
I am human, not a super-hero Koala or even a Koala who has discovered the means to bend space and time. With that said, I really am “my heart wants but my body cannot do” (a Chinese proverb for desiring to do something that you are physically incapable of) with respect to Material Queen. I watched episode 1 of the … Continue reading →
Anhui Television has started filming the third drama in it’s Happy Trilogy, and the first teaser pictures have been released. Cheryl Yang and Blue Lan are the leads of Happy Michelin Kitchen (I like them both), but I was rolling around squealing when I saw the first pictures of Li Yi Feng‘s look for the drama. *rubs eyes* OMG, he looks … Continue reading →
This week sees the premiere of two new TW-dramas – Material Queen with Vanness Wu and Lynn Xiong on Friday (I am SO watching that), and Hayate the Combat Butler with Park Shin Hye and George Hu on Sunday (also watching, looks cute). Park Shin Hye took 3 days out of her sure to be packed filmng schedule for her … Continue reading →
Episode 9 of Drunken to Love You harkens back to the tone and mood of episode 1. A combination of farcical slap stick moments mixed in with emotional angst in a now trademark DTLY way. The drama broke 5 in ratings for this episode, so this means we’re about to get Joseph Chang and Tom Price jumping into a pool. … Continue reading →
