The upcoming TW-drama with the tentative English title Ring Ring Bell (the literal translation of the Chinese title is Please Ring Twice With Sincerity 真心請按兩次鈴) with Janine Chang and Peter Ho has finally released official stills. The drama is currently gearing up for its early October premiere on Sundays on CTS. I’m really coming around with the thought of giving … Continue reading →
The ranks of TW leading men are going to significantly dwindle in the next two years, what with some main actors bumping up against the deadline for their mandatory military service enlistment (most notably Ming Dao, Mike He, Ethan Ruan, and Joe Cheng). Jerry Yan has done his service, but conversely he’s had so few acting projects compared to his … Continue reading →
I won’t be around to check out episode 1 of the upcoming Office Girls with Roy Qiu, Alice Ke, James Wen, and Tia Li, which is the drama that will be taking over Drunken to Love You’s spot on Sundays on TTV. But I wouldn’t be posting about it if I didn’t really enjoy all the previews that I’ve seen. … Continue reading →
Buh? My newsfeed is usually brimming with rumors, gossip, and confirmations that rarely does any casting catch me off guard only after it’s been verified. And especially about my handsome Jo Hyun Jae, no less. Well, newly minted fans of Jo Hyun Jae after watching him as the perfect white knight Han Kang in 49 Days, wait no longer because … Continue reading →
All good things must come to an end, and with that said, next week comes the grand finale of Drunken to Love You which means Office Girls (小資女孩向前衝) premieres in two weeks. This drama flew completely under my radar, mostly because the only actor in the cast I’m a fan of did all C-dramas for the last two years so I wasn’t … Continue reading →
And it’s a wrap. The upcoming TW-drama Skip Beat (an adaptation of the popular Japanese manga of the same name) wrapped principal filming this week for all cast members. Donghae, who plays Sho, completed his scenes earlier this month, but flew back to Taiwan this week for poster shoots with the rest of the cast, and to join in the … Continue reading →
Wow, was not expecting this. A seven-minute sneak preview of Happy Michelin Kitchen (Chinese title Happy Three Stars) is out. First off, the English title is exceedingly dorky, I much prefer the literal translation of the title as Happy Three Stars. Second, I’m not partial to the leads’ looks – Blue Lan with his weird moppy hair in some scenes, … Continue reading →
The TW-drama airings are really driving me insane. I just wrote that Sunshine Angel will be following Drunken to Love You in September on TTV, but suddenly it’s announced that SA will premiere next week on August 4th. Buh? With zero promotion and fanfare, TTV is just dumping SA in a Thursday night time slot. I don’t understand. This drama … Continue reading →
Yay for my Ariel Lin coming back to the small screen soon! Boo for this might very well be the last time she does so. I’m going to savor every second of the upcoming TW-drama In Time With You (Chinese title I Might Not Love You) starring Ariel and Bolin Chen. Ariel stated in an interview last month that after this … Continue reading →
Why don’t K-dramas do this, reuniting OTP for cameo roles? I swear Mike He and Janine Chang are my drama OTP id come to life. A decade of TW-idol dramas, and my vote is on the Mike-Janine pairing as hands down the prettiest OTP ever going by looks alone. It’s a testament to their onscreen chemistry that I shipped Yun … Continue reading →
Our Material Queen Lin Chu Man isn’t so material anymore. Lead actress Lynn Xiong returned to Taiwan this week for additional promotional rounds for her drama Material Queen with Vanness Wu. At this point if Lynn does one MQ promo event, Vanness does another. They are like oil and vinegar, but I’m the happy bread soaking up their chemistry onscreen. … Continue reading →
Guess who is all together again in Shanghai? The entire lead cast of all three Happy dramas, that’s who! Ming Dao and Annie Chen (Happy and Love Forever), Mike He and Janine Chang (Sunny Happiness), and my boy Li Yi Feng (he was the second male lead in the first two Happy dramas), all joined the new leads Blue Lan … Continue reading →
Everything about episode 14 of Drunken to Love You was predictable, but darn was it satisfying to watch. The journey of Jie Xiu and Xiao Ru feel so steady, so sure, so much following the saying that a house is built by laying a brick at a time. They are a couple made from appreciation and affection turned into love … Continue reading →
