So this is one of those gossip reveals that make you go “Oh, now that explains it”. Apparently C-actress Zhou Ye has been cultivating a cool and unapproachable image by never smiling on red carpets and in pictorial events for brands at the order of her agency. The order is that she never shows teeth in any picture and if … Continue reading →
Oooooh, me likes! I was not expecting to be all that interested in upcoming period C-drama Fated Hearts (Chinese title 一笑随歌 Yi Xiao Sui Ge or One Smile Accompanying Song). I have a soft spot for drama titles that are punny based on the names of the two leads (like in Sword and Fairy 祈今朝), and here it’s Li Qin … Continue reading →
So this genre has been done before but when done right can be so much fun. It’s the do-over genre or the meta story-within-a-story genre whereby one or even both leads know the outcome but want to change it. A Dream Within a Dream with Li Yi Tong and Liu Yu Ning just released new drama posters and the first … Continue reading →

The period drama Family Business will air on iQiyi and her male lead will be Han Dong Jun (Elvis Han). The earlier rumored … Continue reading →
So count me in on someone who liked seeing two same gen actresses collaborating rather than being rivals, but I also did sense it’s not all sunshine and roses behind-the-scenes. Last month Miu Miu did a Bazaar magazine spread featuring Liu Hao Cun and Zhao Jin Mai as both as brand ambassadors. It was super cute for me and I … Continue reading →
Big news on big budget period C-drama Flourished Peony with Yang Zi and Li Xian and I’m of mixed thoughts on it. The S+ budget drama is confirmed to have 60 episodes which is rare these days after the ban on dramas longer than 40 episodes to cut down on story filler, Flourished Peony appears to have a lot of … Continue reading →
It’s tough being in the public spotlight as each new sighting is room for commentary good or bad. Earlier this month Liu Shi Shi was in NYC attending various New York Fashion Week events and got tons of praise for her hair, makeup, outfits, and overall aura. Now this week she’s getting criticism from C-netizens for a set of new … Continue reading →
It’s been a great summer year so far for C-actress Zhao Li Ying, her big budget xianxia C-drama The Legend of Shen Li was a big hit and her movie Article 20 netted her the Best Supporting Actress award at the Hundred Flower Awards last month. It’s clear that sometimes stars and their own fandoms don’t align on the same perspective or wants and in the case of C-drama Love Beyond the Grave it’s a matter of reality versus ideal. Female lead Dilraba Dilmurat‘s huge fandom has been kicking up a storm for two weeks kvetching about her unflattering costumes, hairpieces, and makeup. TBH they have … Continue reading →
Oooh this sounds interesting, and also reminds me that I still need to find time to watch C-drama Reset. Bai Jing Ting and Zhou Ye are in talks for a C-drama titled Give Me Five (Chinese title 逆时侦查组 Reverse Time Detective Squad) that is a time loop story hence it reminds everyone of Reset which was a big hit for … Continue reading →
Where have I seen this show before? Oh yes, just a few months ago and with the same actor no less. Sigh, I really don’t know who is advising Chen Zhe Yuan on his casting issues but this same type of conflict is not looking good for him. The romance C-drama Double Track (Parallel Track) has been casting and was … Continue reading →
