Okay, finally this drama catches my interest. The upcoming obligatory medical K-drama, and I say obligatory because I guarantee there will be at least one medical K-drama a year if not more, Top Medical Team is starting to get all its ducks (cast) in a row now that its predecessor drama Two Weeks is premiering soon. Leading man Kwon Sang … Continue reading →
It’s hard to do these days but consider me impressed with rising young K-actress Lee Yoo Bi. She first popped up on my radar in Nice Guy (The Innocent Man) with a capable cast led by Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae Won, but her acting debut was actually in the hilariously terrible sitcom Vampire Idol. Not exactly a title … Continue reading →
The cast of the upcoming cable network tvN Mon-Tues drama Who Are You attended a press conferences yesterday as the drama gears up for its premiere next week. This was an off-week for tvN since Cyrano Dating Agency finished airing last week, but a breather is never a bad thing. The tone of the two dramas couldn’t be anymore different … Continue reading →
I’m going out on a limb here and saying that the romance really isn’t going to all that critical to the narrative of Two Weeks. That doesn’t mean there won’t be any, but I feel like screenwriter So Hyun Kyung is more interested in exploring the preciousness of life and humanity, which she’s been probing more and more since she … Continue reading →
Today’s episode of Goddess of Fire revolved around a stolen ceremonial vase. Pretty much it’s a missing pot. Is that a step up from a broken urn causing all the ruckus? I dunno, but if a Koala could make a “I’m so bored face”, I would make a gif of it and post it anytime a drama revolves around a … Continue reading →
Oh boy, this drama is going to end with us needing a bucket, yes? A bucket to catch the river of tears sure to come, because the just released official MV of the closing theme song for the upcoming period wuxia drama King of Lan Ling convinces me there is no way in drama Heaven or Hell the OTP is … Continue reading →
I dread writing these posts, absolutely hate having to even devote time to write about something that should never have happened in the first place. Early this morning South Korea time, famed director Kim Jong Hak was found dead of an apparent suicide. Let that sink in because the first reaction is “what?” followed by “not again!” I don’t know … Continue reading →
Everyone has their own favorite flavor of ice-cream, and even the exact same flavor of ice-cream can taste different despite the same basic ingredients of milk and sugar. I look at the various drama adaptations of the Japanese manga Itazura na Kiss (It Started with a Kiss) as basically different ice-cream shops doing their own strawberry ice-cream. It’s sweet, pink, … Continue reading →
Another Monday, another wholly Kim Bum-motivated Goddess of Fire post. At this point, I applaud the fortitude of any recapper attempting to actually watch in detail and then write something interesting and meaningful about this drama. There are about 10 minutes an episode worth watching and those all involve Kim Bim’s character Kim Tae Do. Moon Geun Young is the … Continue reading →
It’s a sad state of affairs that Kang Ji Hwan is in the States and so close yet still so far away because I’ve no time to go stalk him. Boo hoo to that. Since wrapping the weekend drama The Incarnation of Money in early Spring, Kang Ji Hwan took a short break and then quietly jetted to Los Angeles … Continue reading →
I’ve gotten rather addicted to sleuthing out the He Who Wears the Crown, Withstands the Weight: The Heirs (Heirs) news. It kinda heightens the fun of the wait, especially for a drama that is highly anticipated in polarizing ways. Some are primed to love it, others are ready to loath it, but in between there might be tons of folks … Continue reading →
There is a new drama rocketing up the addiction chart for me, and luckily it’s arrived just in time to swoop in and exchange out a drama I’ve just pulled the plug on because it’s official DOA. Weekends is the land of weekend makjang fare and occasionally one or two a year will rope me in for the long haul. May … Continue reading →
Even if his fans and detractors universally acknowledge that he’s more or less a douchy hack of a producer and scriptwriter, Yu Zheng is probably having the last laugh right and counting his dough all the way to the bank. His just finished airing C-drama Legend of Lu Zhen was a smash hit thanks to the youthful vitality, natural good … Continue reading →
