So I feel like we can’t have nice things and just try to enjoy it. If C-drama The Legend of Shen Li turns out to suck I’ll totally say so, but so far the promos have looked good but the first wave of criticism is here. This week Tencent released the first big preview since announcing the premiere date, and … Continue reading →
So I’ve already re-watched the first two episodes of Queen of Tears which premiered this past weekend and my love for it has only increased after I have more time to savor the details. And there are so many, from the directing to the dialogue and scenes and callbacks, this is an exquisite meal with multiple courses and each dish … Continue reading →
So this C-novel a few years ago had a female lead lined up in Song Zu Er, but production was slow and in the interim she’s no longer attached. The project adapted from the novel Qi Xing Cai (七星彩 or Colorful Seven Stars) has recently been on the lookout to sign the male lead. In talks are Yang Yang and … Continue reading →
Has it been 11 years already?!? Wow and also what an amazing walk down memory lane bringing back all the great feels from this drama. K-drama I Hear Your Voice was what catapulted screenwriter Park Hye Ryun to the big leagues, though she was already almost there with her prior drama before it Dream High. She has a very cohesive … Continue reading →
It’s cute that the leads for the upcoming Fox Spirit Matchmaker second installment the Zhu Ye chapter have birthdays just a week apart. Zhang Yun Long is on March 2nd and Liu Shi Shi on March 10th so the production used each’s birthday to release new posters of their characters in the drama. He is Wang Quan Hong Ye and … Continue reading →
Well you know C-actress Dilraba Dilmurat is insanely popular to the point of influential when her magazine post can spawn a trend. She’s in the recent issue of L’Officiel magazine sporting silver locks and wings in what is being called an angel pictorial. In a few shots she’s squatting but on tippy toes with her arms balancing on the ground … Continue reading →
The first episode of newly premiered tvN weekend drama Queen of Tears was good, I was intrigued, but episode 2 turned that soft positive reception to raging love and obsession in ways I could not have even anticipated. This is not just a love story, this is a story about love, hate, power, disparity, miscommunication, and above all else hope. … Continue reading →
The very highly anticipated C-movie The Murderer starring Zhang Zi Yi and directed by award winning and commercially popular HK-director Peter Chan wrapped filming last month in February 2024. The movie is based on a true story in 1940’s Shanghai when an abused wife of a gambling addict killed and dismembered him and her tale became a feminist call for … Continue reading →
When I heard the male lead names for the upcoming C-drama Noble Lady (Gui Nu 贵女) I was like “who’s that?” so don’t feel bad not knowing him. C-actor Xin Yun Lai, who looks like K-actor Woo Do Hwan IMO, will be the male lead opposite top billed Chen Du Ling for the drama which in recent months was best … Continue reading →
I really like how Dylan Wang and his agency is mapping out his career, including attending this year’s 2024 NBA All-Star game and playing in the celeb game. He loves the NBA and is really so charming and earnest on ever big stages. This week C-ent casting says his agency is working hard to get him a supporting role in … Continue reading →
So this C-drama looks like a hot mess but at least its airable without any problematic cast members or in-fighting. Burning Flames (Wu Geng Ji) with Allen Ren and Xing Fei is reportedly going to air drop sometime in mid-March this month on iQiyi. Insiders are saying Allen will be paying personally for the promos as his agency is not … Continue reading →
It was already big news last week that top A-list male actors in South Korea Hyun Bin and Jung Woo Sung would be doing a K-drama together. It’s a thriller called Made in Korea set in the 1970’s revolving around the economic development of the country and the drug trade underbelly along with the dogged legal system. Binnie is playing … Continue reading →
Awwwww, I love this cameo reunion and it’s also an inversion of their prior roles. Award winning chameleon actor Oh Jung Se will be making a guest appearance in this weekend’s tvN drama Queen of Tears which will reunite him with his former onscreen costar Kim Soo Hyun. The two very memorably played brothers in It’s Okay to Not be … Continue reading →
