A great new K-drama is now cast and on deck for 2024 and has a cute punny name as well. It’s called Romance Movie (or Melo Movie) and the female lead has the name Kim Moo Bi and the drama is set in the world of K-movies. The leads are Choi Woo Shik and Park Bo Young with him playing … Continue reading →
OMG, this is like baaaaaad even for Yu Zheng level shenanigans. Filming has kicked off for Perfect Match, a 5 couple drama about a mom trying to marrying off her 5 daughters in one Northern Song dynasty family and their respective 5 actors playing their beaus. It’s basically Yu Zheng taking Pride and Prejudice and knocking off the premise set … Continue reading →
K-actress Shin Hye Sun is really going to back-to-back-to-back on K-dramas, not that I am complaining. She did See You in My 19th Life rolling right into Welcome to Samdalri and now has signed on for her next K-drama before Samdalri has ended. The drama is called To My Haeri (literal translation) and is from the screenwriter of Twenty Five, … Continue reading →
So no one can accuse K-pop star Hyuna of moving on too fast after the end of a long relationship. The songstress dated fellow K-pop-er E’Dawn (or just Dawn now) for 6 years before the couple announced their break up last year in December of 2022. Now to kick off the new year in 2024, Hyuna has debuted a new … Continue reading →
I feel like it’s been so long since Song Joong Ki did a romance based drama or movie it almost felt like he wasn’t going back to that era in his career. But now it looks like while he enjoyed the successful genre jumping it looks like he will be doing a melo this year in 2024. He’s in talks … Continue reading →
So this drama synopsis may seem wonky off the bat calling leads Xu Kai and Yu Shu Xin of Sword and Fairy, the Chinese Paladin 6 adaptation, as siblings but it’s not cuz they are actually blood related. The story kicks off when both awaken at the same time in some random town with no memories and set off on … Continue reading →
A new legal drama is coming on SBS in early 2024, the directly titled Good Partner centered around attorneys at a divorce firm. My fave divorce attorney K-drama remains Love and Marriage which feels like multiple lifetimes ago. Good Partner pairs the veteran partner with a pragmatic attitude to divorce law with the younger rookie who remains morally righteous, who … Continue reading →

I remember many times K-netizens claiming to be outraged by a star and wanting to boycott this and that but it almost always ends up being decided on quality. Last year some thought Jo Byung Kyu‘s bullying allegations were never resolved and didn’t want to watch The Uncanny Counter 2, but it turns out the drama ratings never met the … Continue reading →
So while one is technically right the other one seems more on the moral high ground, and unfortunately it’s the normally bad one. C-drama producer Yu Zheng this week announced his new drama Perfect Match which has a four actress four actor pairing in what is described as a cute period romance comedy. The two main female leads were supposed … Continue reading →
At least the formal response is swift and will hopefully put this to rest. If not then K-netizens need to decide if they simply want to keep digging into this. A day after Dispatch published an article claiming that investigation into Park Min Young‘s ex-boyfriend Kang and his financial misconduct case revealed that contrary to her earlier claim she did … Continue reading →
So the Chinese Paladin dramas are based on the same name RPG games so each series is its own story line. The original CP and then CP3 are classics, and there is CP4 with Chen Zhe Yuan and Ju Jing Yi longed completed and yet to air and more recently filmed CP6 called Sword and Fairy with Xu Kai and … Continue reading →
So it’s been a consistent rumor since around 2022 that married couple Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi will get divorced. It’s pretty much the same stuff around different priorities in career/family and disagreement about where their son would be education (Taiwan v. Mainland China). The most recent rumor is that it will be announced in 2025 after the couple … Continue reading →
