So it’s been a consistent rumor since around 2022 that married couple Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi will get divorced. It’s pretty much the same stuff around different priorities in career/family and disagreement about where their son would be education (Taiwan v. Mainland China). The most recent rumor is that it will be announced in 2025 after the couple … Continue reading →
C-actor Hu Ge has another hit on his hands with the C-drama Blossoms Shanghai directed by HK auteur Wong Kar Wai. This is probably his most high profile C-drama in nearly a decade since his career elevating critically acclaimed hit Nirvana in Fire. He’s been so picky with dramas and movies and rightly so, reportedly he only went against his … Continue reading →
There are so many finished C-dramas with actual problems, like in jail mail leads, a topic that is banned by the C-government, and a cast member under investigation for tax evasion. So Chinese Paladin 4 not airing yet is the funniest shiz because it’s solely self-created by the production and network in signing a contract two years ago with Ju … Continue reading →
Ooof, this is a rough week for K-actress Park Min Young. She was riding high with her new drama Marry My Husband getting increasingly high ratings and the judge-y K-netizens seemingly letting go of her scandal last year with her relationship with a known swindler. Now the news is turned with tabloid Dispatch releasing an expose on her that alleges … Continue reading →
So I don’t think these folks are virtue signaling or trying to look good but I do think the end result will still never feel satisfactory or get justice for the wronged. South Korea top director Bong Joon Ho of Parasite and many more award winning movie fame held a press conference accompanied by other industry veterans in the acting, … Continue reading →
The first big C-ent party of 2024 was this weekend with the 2023 Weibo Night celebration that brought out nearly all the popular stars in the industry. It’s new year with good news for beleaguered C-drama The Golden Hairpin. This is the S-level drama starring Wu Yi Fan and Yang Zi that went into limbo after his … Continue reading →
I don’t want to yasssss queen Honey Lee just cuz she’s an amazing actress and star but she totally deserves it here. She’s headlining the new MBC Fri-Sat night sageuk drama Knight Flower (Night Blooming Flower) and the drama just premiered on Friday to 7.9% ratings and solid reviews in what could be a hit for the network. It’s the … Continue reading →
Oh, me likey! The more Xiao Zhan can get away from xianxia the better IMO, even with his breakout beloved The Untamed it’s been too many years now and with last year’s underwhelming The Longest Promise I would love to see him in a more grounded role. The first BTS stills have hit the interwebs from the set of currently … Continue reading →
I was solely covering K-dramas in 2012 but even then I heard of the infamous Backstabbing (Sword Stabbing) Yin Xiao Tian Incident that year. It’s so famous it even has its own Baidu page haha. It spawned factions, memes, accusations, denials, betrayals, and true friends emerging. In 2012, then one of the four top male leads Yin Xiao Tian was … Continue reading →
I really like Liu Yu Ning but when there is smoke there is likely fire, and the rumors of his side’s hustling to get more exposure (such as increased scenes in dramas) may have a modicum of truth. It’s coming up again as he’s signed on as the top billed male lead for the period C-drama A Dream Within a … Continue reading →
I don’t know if C-actress Xin Zhi Lei was born with Kylie Jenner manufactured lips or it’s with work done but she is absolutely the definition of a onscreen bombshell in the currently airing C-drama Blossoms Shanghai. In the last two weeks she’s received the most positive lift from the drama buzz and is the breakout among the three female … Continue reading →
