Oh, me likey! The more Xiao Zhan can get away from xianxia the better IMO, even with his breakout beloved The Untamed it’s been too many years now and with last year’s underwhelming The Longest Promise I would love to see him in a more grounded role. The first BTS stills have hit the interwebs from the set of currently … Continue reading →
I was solely covering K-dramas in 2012 but even then I heard of the infamous Backstabbing (Sword Stabbing) Yin Xiao Tian Incident that year. It’s so famous it even has its own Baidu page haha. It spawned factions, memes, accusations, denials, betrayals, and true friends emerging. In 2012, then one of the four top male leads Yin Xiao Tian was … Continue reading →
I really like Liu Yu Ning but when there is smoke there is likely fire, and the rumors of his side’s hustling to get more exposure (such as increased scenes in dramas) may have a modicum of truth. It’s coming up again as he’s signed on as the top billed male lead for the period C-drama A Dream Within a … Continue reading →
I don’t know if C-actress Xin Zhi Lei was born with Kylie Jenner manufactured lips or it’s with work done but she is absolutely the definition of a onscreen bombshell in the currently airing C-drama Blossoms Shanghai. In the last two weeks she’s received the most positive lift from the drama buzz and is the breakout among the three female … Continue reading →
This is one of the most high profile K-dramas of 2024 and has a confirmed March airing date on tvN so I am not surprised to see the promos starting. A first still has been released of leads Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won in the drama Queen of Tears penned by writer Park Ji Eun as her first … Continue reading →
So there are rumors for the past few weeks that Chinese Paladin 4 would be airing in January 2024. It’s not a big budget drama and was filmed in 2022, plus there is Sword and Fairy based on Chinese Paladin 6 just wrapped filming that would be ready to air soon as well. But this week there is no CP4 … Continue reading →
I sure hope this script is banging because K-actor Park Bo Gum has taken the longest hiatus to come back after finishing military service and I hope his selections airing this year are worth it. His last drama was Record of Youth in 2020 and now we’re in 2024 already, but he has filmed Thank You for Your Hard Work … Continue reading →
Within C-ent the S-level drama production means the highest level of money investment so the biggest budget basically. Investment comes from the production company going out to get investors, it’s rare for a production company to cover the entire cost of the budget. Afterwards the drama is sold to platforms and also sells commercials and if it’s a success the … Continue reading →
So this K-drama got a lot of news last year for being the project that would cast face-twins Song Hye Kyo and Han So Hee, and the two even teased it on their socials and tagged each other. In the end neither signed on to the thriller murder mystery K-drama The Price of Confession and the production quietly went about … Continue reading →
So this is basically a done deal unless something drastic happens, the pairing and the scheduling both work well. A new Tencent produced C-drama is kicking off pre-production called Kill My Sins (Chinese title Zhang Xin 掌心 Palm of the Hand). It’s a big S-level female lead top billed drama and will star Liu Shi Shi who goes into filming … Continue reading →
So I haven’t started tvN Mon-Tues drama Marry My Husband yet due to travel and also being visually uncomfortable with how thin Park Min Young looks in this drama for her role as a cancer patient and even the time travel back scenes she’s still woefully thin. But she has a knack for picking dramas and I’ve truly liked to … Continue reading →
K-actor Jung Kyung Ho kicked off 2023 last year with one of the first big hits in K-drama with Crash Course in Romance and this year in 2024 he will be returning to the small screen in a few months as the titular character in K-drama Labor Attorney Noh Moo Jin. Even better is his female lead was recently confirmed … Continue reading →
I personally use anything over 7 as decent and worth checking out when a drama opens on Douban the crowd rating site in C-ent. Over 8 is amazing and around 6 is mediocre, and anything below that in the 5s and under is avoid at all costs. Xianxia C-drama The Last Immortal (Hidden God) wrapped its run last week and … Continue reading →
